He pulled a Christian Drejer. :lmao:

Not that it matters much but please don’t compare a decision to sign a pro contract in July to a guy vanishing into thin air the night before a road game without so much as a goodbye.

Samson decided to go a different direction in his career similar to a transfer. Dreyer flat out abandoned his teammates in the middle of the season.

No comparison

Ruz was one I had picked to break out this year. I'm pretty sure the pro deal he signed was with an upper level team that's produced alot of NBA players. I think it was a bigger opportunity .

Yeah, it's a loss. I have no idea if he was going to breakout but he brought some size and I'm sure he would have hit a lot more 3's than last year. But he's gone, so......bye.

Maybe I'm totally off my rocker but if I can't spell or pronounce his name and I don't remember any of his plays, I don't see the issue with him leaving. He was a ship in the Fog!

Remembering when we were good at both sports is so far in the past that I can’t recall it very well.
I can still remember when the basketball program was good……….but now we have nothing to truly be excited about so I agree that we should take the pain one sport at a time

This kid looks like a sleeper whose stock is rising. I like it considering we had the spot open and now have two freshman in the class. His tape looks pretty damn good so not sure what was holding him back from getting better offers. Probably the level of competition, but he looks like he can play.

He definitely looks and sounds like a player that's worth taking a flyer on. I think I read he was part of a state championship team. There's always gonna be room on the floor for a shooter . We'll see. I like his tape better than some higher rated guys that we've taken.

CMW has a pretty impressive roster this season.
I get excited until I realize that he had an impressive roster last season…….and the previous season……….and……

Mike White has many times wasted apparent talent before, like some reverse Midas' touch.? It seems always too much up to the players' individual game performances instead of any scheme by which our team concept dominates opposing defenses with.?

We need Castleton inside, he's 6'10". We also need 1 or 2 more who can go inside effectively.
Preseason high excitement is fun but too often risks disappointment. I hope to see a tightly bonded group of players spinning opposing defenses in stumbly circles. Go Gators and go, Coach White.

Gators land, Tuongthach “Tuon” Gatkek, a JUCO college transfer:

Florida adds fifth transfer to its roster with Gatkek - The Independent Florida Alligator

Here, before you click, let me save you some time. He's 6' 9 and he's 175 pounds so unless he has some guard-like skills like Kevin Durant he's gonna be a complete waste of space until he can put on some weight. He has no highlight videos that I can find and averaged like 9-10 points or something in JUCO. I can't really find any information about him at all and don't think anybody else wanted him.

I really don't understand why we take kids like this. Dude wouldn't even start for a mid-major team. Please make me look stupid by proving me wrong, tuon.

Lol. You can tell by his reaction and by the announcers reaction that the 3 wasn't expected to go in. Maybe he will put in some work and get good at them. Good shooting solves a lot of basketball player deficits...But I'm not holding my breath.

Here are his stats for the 20-21 season. He can't shoot. And his free throw percentage is a disaster.

Good find. That was his only made 3 pointer of the season. Odd FG% stat line of 20% 3pt, 42% FT, yet 66% total FG. He'd be 1.5% higher FG% if he never shot a 3.

WTF is Whitey doing? This guy doesn't even fit the mold of some other head scratcher transfers (strong, athletic, very defensive minded guys who had some connection to White).

Really odd stat line in a lot of ways. What stands out to me is that he only played 6.2 minutes per game, yet averaged 9.7 points per game, 6.9 rebounds per game, and over 2 blocks per game. So, are you telling me if he played nearly a full game (I'm just going to multiply by approximately 6 and assume he plays about 37 minutes per game giving him at least a few minutes of rest), he would have averaged 58.2 points per game, 41.4 rebounds per game, and over 12 blocks per game? If so, this guy is going to shatter records...

Something doesn't add up here.
