Maybe we’ll get another shot at Chip Kelly after all; UCLA crushes LSU

I've made a few jokes about Gus Malzahn becoming our next coach, but after this weekend, that doesn't seem like an impossibility. He had a good win over Boise St., it would be easy to poach him from UCF, Malzahn would already have all the pieces he needs for his offense with AR, and Strickland likes hiring coaches with SEC experience/success (some). Obviously, that depends on how Mullen manages the rest of this season. So far, not a great start.

You fly that pretty boy out here with another contract and a Bic pen (this time, one that hasn’t been chewed on) and we’ll see what happens. Just ya’ll make sure it’s a more “competitive” offer, if you know what I mean.

Malzahn is just a slightly better version of Mullinz. Far from elite.

The playbook is similiar. So the transition would be easier.

Id prefer us return to Gator Football and be attractive to the WR talent in the state.

with the recruiting classes he’s had and beating LSU with them. Impressive.

I agree. I think because the players fit what he likes, there could be some short-term success, but he's not a good long-term solution.

I think people believe that I want this to happen. That's not the case. I think it could possibly happen. If Mullen is let go this year or next, like it or not, I think Malzahn will be a serious candidate for Strickland if he's still at UCF.

I am no Chip Kelly fan, but I do not think he would be dumb enough to come to UF, ever. After having Phil Knight at his disposal at OU, it was easy to get the best of everything. I do not think Chip is stupid especially after it was shown that his BS won;t play where everyone is on a level playing field in the NFL. So back to college and Chip knows he needs a place where they have an unlimited donor base that will give you anything you ask for or an Administration from the top down that either really cares or at least fakes like they really care. UF has no such fundalation nor that type of administration.
