Remember when we were blaming the OL instead of Vacationing Dan's stupid playcalling?

Those were good times!

One, I guess, positive note from the FAU game was that the running game and the OL looked functional. Notice that the unblocked DE didn't ignore Trash completely and blast the tailback in the backfield? See how that works? See how stupid it was to run the option 45% of the time with Trash on the field? Some of the ignorant among us blamed the OL instead of the the real problem, Dan Mullinz inability to adapt to a Qb with no running game.

I blamed the OL when the inside zone gets blown up by teams like Mizzou or Tennessee. Has nothing to do with if the QB keeps it. That’s the DE responsibility.

We got some decent pieces of the puzzle that's for sure. Whether anyone agrees with the overall offensive philosophy or not. The success or failures this season bring will hinge more on decisions made on the sideline regarding personnel and play calling....Not to say were championship caliber but at least on par with the overall records of 2018-2020.

So, all offseason it was Dorky Dan, or even Dildo Dan, and now just hours removed from one of his signature condescending jerk interviews, it's Vacationing Dan? Please fix this thread title before we proceed.

We’ll hand the ball to Malik Davis and everything will be all right. I promise.

Donk you lost me at (Trask running the option 45 percent of the time) just quit inventing false numbers to fit your half baked narrative.
That stats are stats. Every fuchsing run (and many of the screens passes) were options.

The fact that you don't know what an option isn't my fault. the QB doesn't have to keep the ball for it to be an option. All those plays you dumbfuchs called delays or whatever were options. The clue was the OT not blocking the DE and moving up to a LB if you want to actually learn something about football.

We actually did run a few non-option runs last week for the first time I recall since Latsko era in 2006.

Fuchtard not every run was an option thats just absurd, as far as the passes go I guess if you count the progressions the QB go's through then I guess you could say he has options but not what I call a option play.

There was a point in the 2nd quarter when I saw Donkey from a distance.

It was a tv break and the monitor switched to Gators in the NFL showing recent stars getting some action. Pitts' catch & run was shown...then Trask's TD pass in Tampa. The entire crowd was cheering and it was a feel-good moment...but I did notice a bald guy wearing jean shorts and a black wife beater that didn't fully cover his belly yell out "Trash!!" I can only assume this was Chatter's Only Donkey since no one else on the planet refers to our beloved QB like that. I didn't get a good look at Donk since security quickly arrived and escorted him out to a mixture of boos and applause from his section.

Until he fumbles again in crunch time.

I think since Kestahn Moore’s fumbling tendencies, we’ve had at least one Kestahn on the team every season since. It’s been Davis for the last 4 years.

It's actually crazy to think he fumbled against the vols going into the endzone in the 2017 game. He's one of the signature reasons the "Heave" was even necessary. We're in year 4 of Mullen, ut not only moved on from their coach that day, but has also fired his replacement and are on a 3rd coach since that day. Still here.

Go away, cheerleader chick.

People who understand football are talking here.

If you care at all, here is a sub-beginner level explanation.

(broken link google "Urban Meyer explains run pass option")

Even easier, if we dont block the DE at all (and are hat low aka run blocking) it is an option play.

Actually, all those Urban Meyer explains series on youtube are pretty good.

But remember Urban was smart enough to not run the option (for long) with Leak. He forced Douchbag to run traditional offense usually w a fullback.

IIRC ... Meyer made the move to a FB during the off week before the leghumper game in 2005. That made a huge difference.
