Exchange between announcers at end of half was like a microcosm of message board comments. One guy says Mullen should've made better use of those plays at end of half to work on 2-minute offense (true), other guy mocks him for saying that in light of the fact it's 35-3 (shut up, pumper).

So happy and proud of EJ. AR is the future without a doubt. But EJ has been a great Gator and hard worker and is a good QB. I love seeing him play well.
Yep. Good to see he's settling down. Next week is David vs Goliath, but happy for EJ this week

If we run the ball on first and second down, I would agree. We didn’t. They were obviously thinking we would try and loading the secondary, thus the check downs. On 3rd, who cares? Not critical and no need to force things. Zero issue with that series.

Good job on the check down EJ

I can't tell from the TV, but it'll be interesting when Gator Nation Football Podcast breaks down the film if they'll see that our wide receivers on these check-downs are actually covered, or if EJ is having trouble reading the field so he takes the easy throw. USF is really bad, so I have a hard time believing that there's not an open man somewhere downfield.

That said, I'd rather EJ throw it to his open check-down than in triple coverage elsewhere; however, if he's struggling to read the field, then we're missing out on big play opportunities that may be hard to come by next week.

Edit: I'm referencing his multiple throws to check-downs, not just one specific play.

There was no sense of urgency. I know it's hard to suspend disbelief when you're up by 32 points but they could've put some work in on playing like they were down and against the clock

That's a very good point. With the camera focused on him he appears to be going through all his reads and finding them covered, but you're right, who knows if they even were or not. Now that you mention it, it does seem hard to believe that they were

How long before Mullens’ allegiance to Choke cost him his job?

UH OH!

Not only does AR15 not throw that pick, but if he does, he doesn't whiff on the tackle like EJ did

AR just moved ahead in the rankings

Let's see Cousin puts EJ back in instead of AR, so as not to damage EJ's fragile confidence if AR goes out and balls

Maybe we can move him to DE. Technically, the guy got (barely) outside of him. He should have been outside engaging him with his inside shoulder. If he gets beaten, it has to be to the inside, not the outside. He was fast enough that it didnt matter, but with a faster back, or stronger back....

I dont think setting the edge was his assignment anyway. That DE SHOULD have set the edge. Sorry but if you are an SEC DE you should destroy that fuchsing Sunbelt TE and set the edge.

There wasn't a TE in that picture, its the left tackle. MOST of the time, the DE should set the edge, but he is lined up in 4I and the LB is 2-3 yards OUTSIDE the tackle, so why in the hell would you think the DE, who is lined up INSIDE, would have OUTSIDE responsibility?? The DE didn't get pushed back on the double team and allowed the LB to close.
