Auburn Recruiting rankings:

2007: 9
2008: 21
2009: 23
2010: 6

None of the "super star" running backs were drafted in the NFL. None of the WRs were drafted either. Of the "front seven that rivalled anyone" only two lineman were drafted. Lee Ziemba was in the 7th round, Brandon Mosley in the 4th round. And let us not forget, Cam was a transfer.

Everyone wants to talk about Scam but they forget about Nick Furley on defense. In the 2010 Iron Bowl, Alabama was up 24 to 7 at half-time. Furley was suspended for the 1st half. Furley came in for the 2nd half and Auburn held Bama to a field goal.

Two be fair to our resident sourpuss, DT Nick Fairley was a 1st rounder and was a dominant player that season and Zach Clayton was a 7th rounder. Mosley and Ziemba were O-linemen I believe (and as you note, both drafted). They did also have an excellent tailback named Michael Dyer who was a 1K+ rusher (and again the next year post Cam). He couldn't stay out of legal trouble though was later kicked off the team; no idea whatever happened to him.

The Manziel led aTm team is a better example. Don't forget that we beat the same team that beat Saban. Strange shlt happens. Freeze's Ole Miss teams are another example.

Just like every football team, once in awhile Bama loses a game they shouldn't so it's not 100% out of the realm of possibility that an oblong ball could take enough fortuitous bounces for the Mullen led Gators to stumble into a win. It's just not very probable. Sometimes you hit a hard 8 and let it ride and hit it again, but I wouldn't risk to mortgage on it.

Pretty sure he was suspended for his 12 late hits a week prior against uga. I was in the gift shop in the stadium before our game with Usce and watched him absolutely pummel Aaron Murray again and again. Probably the closes thing I'd seen to Boulware and co in '96.

It was pretty egregious, but was against the bulldogs, so also perfectly acceptable.

Correct. And I'll echo what someone else said yesterday that if/when they struggle, it's generally against guys who are mobile. Doesn't mean they can't pass as well. But one thing Manziel, Cam, Kelly, etc all have in common is that they can also create with their legs. Even Garcia in that 2010 Usce game that Law always likes to reference had carries for positive yards. He wasn't just sitting back their getting sacked by their defense, relying on good ground and field position. That's the formula KS has used three times now and it hasn't worked yet.

Yeah but that is stupid and false. Manziel threw for an assload (250? 350?) and didnt run for much, SOS' fat drunk Cawk QB (is he in rehab?), Mr Too Slow to Run Urban's Offense Joe Burro, and they damn near lost to Fatford except for them dwagging on Trailerbammer's goal line.

They key is beating their surprisingly poor secondary through the air, PERIOD. (They are basically built to stop the run and siedways offense, skewed toward hard hitters.and good tacklers over great cover guys who kay not be as good tavkling.... and why not?..Every SEC has spent over a decade trying to run into the teeth of their offense.)

Every team from Cowbell to Kintucky that brings a running QB gets assraped.

But you can keep parroting that running QB bullshtt all you want.

Again, that's not what I said or what's been implied by most of the others. It's about mobility and the ability to create with your legs. So far multiple people have pointed to QBs who were mobile and beat them. You're hanging your hat on literally one game(Lsu 2019) where a straight up passing team beat them. Garcia threw for 200 yards against them in 2010, just for reference. It helped that he could complete the passes he needed to, but when's the last time you were content with a 200 yard outing by our QB's?

I can't get excited about any show that includes Jordan Rogers. What an empty suit he is. Hwois own brants nothing to do with him.
I was watching my kids football game and missed the Gator game, but I got in the car for the Gator post-game report. Mick and Lee were talking about AR15's injury. The most surprising part to me was the stage of coaching support we are at in the UAA. Specifically, they were flat blaming Mullen's game management for the injury. Their point was that since the first half, AR15 was secheduled to be in earlier in the rotation. Instead, when EJ kept throwing picks, they kept EJ in longer. The result they kept harping on was AR running an 80 yard sprint after not playing for over an hour.

Besides being pissed to hear about the injury first thing of hearing the game recap, I found it stunning how openly they were suggesting this was mismanaged by not getting AR in earlier and more often.

We are not alone in our dissatisfaction on this issue. The boosters and the UAA are on it too.

If they were truly dissing Dan then expect that they will be fired at the end of the season. We tolerate no dissatisfaction within the gator family. Total obedience or you are out!!

ESPN just released this article : "Florida Gators quarterbacks 'know the plan' with division of labor vs No. 1 Alabama"

Main quotes from the article:
Mullen has said all along that both quarterbacks will play and that managing the division of labor between the two is "pretty simple."

"They know what we have scheduled going into the game," Mullen said.

Florida QBs 'know the plan' with job split vs. Tide

This means EJ will handle the turnovers and stalled drives and AR the quick TD's? Okay, glad we got that sorted out.
