I've got to say, I love that there are several people here predicting we will be worse than Miami or Mercer. Maybe you're right, just funny how that mindset exists. This is not a SEC Championship game with an entire season under their belt Bama team, now granted, we aren't the same team we were either.

  • Bama still has 3 new OL including the Center and has a Center at right tackle who even Mercer beat a few times.
  • They will be missing one, if not two of their top LB's. If Anderson plays, cut block him until he slows his play or leaves the game.
  • Young still makes mistakes.
  • All of Bama's freshman, RS Freshman, and true sophomores have never been in a hostile environment like they will see Saturday, even while being on the bench last year.
  • This will be the loudest game of the year and a new OL/Center with a RS Freshman making his first true road start might be cause for caution for Bama.
  • RAIN. 60% chance right now. UF has not lost a game where it has rained at home in my memory and I can only think of two UF games (and I missed watching them) where this has happened Auburn '01 and UT '04. A rain soaked game favors UF's run first offense vs. Bama's pass first offense with a still inexperienced QB.
  • Yes, I think Grantham might be the best coach for Bama on Saturday.
  • Yes, I think most throws by EJ will have me holding my breath.
  • I also think that if Bama is missing two linebackers that Pierce could do well.
  • I think Mullen has something like the wheel route against UGA last year up his sleeve.
For those reasons, I'll go 35-31 Florida. I think those scores might be high if rain causes both teams to run the ball more.

You make some great points that actually give me hope enough to allow me to watch 3rd and Grantham break my spirit and stomp a soul crushing, hob nailed boot of reality over and over again onto my neck Saturday afternoon. No way this defense can stop Bama from scoring into the 40’s and I just don’t see with EJ playing most of the downs that the we score more than 24. When it becomes apparent we can only run the ball with any efficiency those missing linebackers for Bama (who surely have future NFLer’s playing behind them) won’t make much of a difference. In the end, the only scores we get outside of FG’s are those scored outside the RZ. Hope I am wrong..

EJ throws a pick within the first two drives and is put right back in because Mullen has to double down on everything.

He then fails on the next drive and Mullen decides to try AR.

AR finally gets in and drives the team to the 1 before he loses his helmet.

Emory goes in and we run a TE fade that EJ throws too late and off his back foot on first down and it gets broken up. The next 3 plays are a combination of option/run plays and we turn it over at the 1.

AR plays the rest of the game but we are already down 17-0 without the ball.

Gators end up losing 38-24.

You guys, we are going to get **** on. It's okay to admit it. It doesn't make you less of a gator fan.

Bama’s offense will score TDs on their first three possessions with double moves and formations that we can’t account for, leaving our DBs exposed. We play on our heals the rest of the afternoon and don’t ever really slow them down.
Bama 45

EJ has played timid the first two games. A lot more timid than when he came in last year I’ve noticed. He will make mistakes that will cost us a turnover or two and a few 3 and outs. AR gets the ball moving, but we don’t sniff the red zone until late in the game.

The chatters predicting a win watched a different EJ than I did those first two games. The EJ that I watched isn’t scoring 40 on the Sabans.

He only needs to score 2 as he usually does. AR will pick up the slack.

Dude, take your midol, change your Kotex and calm down.

The first half game plan against Ugay last year was a good one. I almost said “outside of Ugay last season” in my reply, but it was halfway expected that we would win because of their injuries and Shart’s insistence on starting that Bennett kid when he had a better qb on the bench in waiting. Sound familiar?

Of course, in typical Cousin Eddie fashion, he got a lead against them and went into clock killing mode in the second half instead of stepping on their throats like you should do to a hated rival.
I don’t disagree with anything you’re saying other than who needs to calm down. I think the situation might lead to a surprising upset, but could be an embarrassment as well. I know who our coaches are and how mediocre our recruiting is. I’m no pumper, I just think Bama may be beatable at this point in the season due to a couple of factors. Then I said we would turn around and lose to Kentucky. Sound like a pumper to you? We have a chance. That is all. Not probable, but possible.

If we had a different DC and we knew for sure AR was getting all the snaps, then I think predictions would be much more positive.

Looks like the forecast is for rain tomorrow. This will help to slow down the Bama offense and hold them under 50.

Our only real shot is a combination of AR lighting up the scoreboard and Bama turning it over at least 4 times.

When I think of this game I don't really think of the offense so much, I think we can at least score a few points, even with Emory. It's the DEFENSE that I think of. I cannot see Bama punting a single time - every drive will result in points. This defense remains absolutely horrendous and there's no excuse for it.

Their last drive won't result in points

We are one day out from gameday. All rationality has left my being. We are going to come out and our older D-line is going to out physical Alabama to everyone's shock. Forcing the freshman QB to be their sole playmaker (though I fear if it is him versus EJ only, then Bryce will be the more effective scrambler).

I am predicting (read hoping) lots of this:

Gators 24-16. If we don't hold Alabama to a low point total, then I don't see us winning a shootout as some are predicting in the high 30's/low 40's. Rain and frustration of the young Qb is our best chance and my current exuberant prediction.

Right off, I see AR driving us to the 8-yard line, but his helmet comes off. The sideline camera catches Saban slipping a roll of twenties to the helmet ripper.

All you need to know is team talent composite.
Bama 1004
UF 891
A difference of 113 points.

To put that in perspective UTenn is at 781. Or a delta of 110 points.

So we are as likely to beat bama as Tennessee is to beat us.
They may make you feel good. They may make you feel bad.
But I don't give a fuhc about your feelings.

We know how this is going to end. It's not going to be pretty. Mullen will find a way to score a touchdown late to make it look closer than it was, but the game will never be in doubt. AR is our best chance to stay in the game, but Mullen will most likely sit him for the next 3 weeks hoping the "controversy" cools down. Will probably see him again in November because like LSU last year why play your best players if they are ready to go. After the game Mullen will have some snarky comments about how doctors never get questioned so why does the head coach and walk off from the reporters thinking we should all be happy to only lose by 2 scores.
