I heard Stricklin was impressed with only losing to Bama by 2. Contract extension coming?

Bama looked smaller than usual on defense.
This is not your typical bammer juggernaut. IMO, they have holes here and there that you don't usually see in a Saban coached team. I believe they will lose at least one and maybe two before all is said and done - and could possibly even miss the PO. That's not to say they're not better than we are, but they did not look like world beaters to me.

Yeah, they’re not as good as years past, but they still look like the best team in the country to me.

I don’t know….. I’d more likely agree to them losing at least one game this regular season.

I’m surprised to not see more comments about the offensive line. EJ had all the time in the world, even if he stands beside Franks in terms of maddening indecisiveness. And over 200 yards running the ball. We haven’t done that against Bama in a long time.
Ahhh, the good old silver lining thing, better than nothing I suppose - or so they say. I know I'm being a bit of a schytt, but I don't care about "losing well" any more than I care about leaving behind a handsome corpse. When you're dead you're dead, when you lose you lose. I'm going to STFU for now before I become even more morose. Later Gators.

From a Bama fan perspective:
  • Gators won the line of scrimmage. Not good.
  • Gators look like the best in the East SEC. I really think they will win out until the SEC championship.
  • I don't really want Bama to play them again, especially if AR gets some playing time before then.
  • Maybe Saban can use this game to motivate the team to work hard. They have a lot of work to do.
  • Whew! I'm glad the clock ran out.

Mullen will lose another game, even if he beats Ugay, he'll blow one to a team like Mizzou or Ky. It always happens.

You could very well be right. OSU, Okie, and Clemson look fairly pedestrian to me thus far. And although the dwags are super talented, their QBs can barely see over the steering wheel and their HC is a bang wearing, schytt for brains peckerwood who will "coach" his way into a loss or two somewhere along the way. This does not really look much like a vintage year for the elites of CFB, not to this point anyway.

I’ve got a sinking feeling that this game gives Mullen reason to continue to keep running Emory out there no matter what.

We’re going to get 1 year of a generational talent unless he transfers out.

This game should give the Gators confidence. Only problem is, if they win the SEC East again, Mullen and his defensive coach buddy aren't going anywhere.

Tarquin for Delance helped a bunch. So does having a running QB to run the offense that requires it

I hate that we lost, esp to Bama, but I’m not going to avoid discussing positives just as I would likely have had a critical eye in an upset win.

1) We blocked well.
2) We fought back. There was no quit in the team.
3) Jones played better in the second half.
4) We had something like three or four defensive stops in a row in the second half. That probably sounds laughable but Bama is going to be a top 10 or 15 offense at the end of the season. You’re looking for any signs of growth, esp with a Badtham defense.

I’m most encouraged by the way we blocked. You have to wonder what a guy like Richardson could do with a full game of snaps behind a line like that. We have to improve on defense. We’re inconsistent and still prone to make dumb plays, which ought not be happening in season #4.

Can we make a run at a rematch with Bama? I think you have to say we can. And I don’t think Bama can stop AR. I don’t think anyone or anything can stop him except that stupid hammy.

Emory played better, but it was maddening watching him standing back there under ZERO pressure and not be able to do anything. Good QB's would absolutely pick defenses apart with that much time. The OL has been outstanding, we have to take advantage of it. Emory does not think fast enough back there, and I'm not sure that's something you can learn.

As crazy as it sounds, I think if AR played the entire game today we not only win, we may have killed them.

Jones is Franks without the attitude. He simply doesn’t trust his vision of the field. He’ll always dawdle and double-clutch the ball in the pocket while his receivers run free.

Won’t pull the trigger…until it’s too late.

We would be unbeatable with AR. I don't care how little we've seen of him. We've seen enough. I don't believe he doesn't know the playbook. He's been on campus for 19 months.
