We would be unbeatable with AR. I don't care how little we've seen of him. We've seen enough. I don't believe he doesn't know the playbook. He's been on campus for 19 months.
I'm just praying we roll through the season and take these jerks on again in Atlanta - with AR15 under center.

Emory played better, but it was maddening watching him standing back there under ZERO pressure and not be able to do anything. Good QB's would absolutely pick defenses apart with that much time. The OL has been outstanding, we have to take advantage of it. Emory does not think fast enough back there, and I'm not sure that's something you can learn.

As crazy as it sounds, I think if AR played the entire game today we not only win, we may have killed them.

AR behind this O-line could be lethal, only person that can't see it is Mullen.

Mullen will lose another game, even if he beats Ugay, he'll blow one to a team like Mizzou or Ky. It always happens.

This. How anyone can extrapolate an entire season just based on this one game is beyond me. Do they not know Cousin Eddie and his history? Why put some much emphasis on this game and say well............. Well what if this team plays like it did in game one or game two against an decent opponent? They lose. What if next week UF loses and Cousin Eddie says "well we let Bama beat us twice". Here is the one fact about each Saturday that Cousin Eddie is on the sideline. The team will never look like a great team overall, they will make mistakes (all teams do) but way too many mental mistakes and it is no guarantee to be a W no matter the opponent.

Exactly, we should beat the snot out of anyone on our schedule not named Ugay, but we'll likely struggle with several if not lose to some.

Now the worry is that this game, without AR, gives Mullen carte blanch on not playing AR.
Our OL run-blocking is solid. Malik can handle the running chores, with our other RBs being reliable too.
This is one fact: we almost beat the #1 team in all the nation when everyone expected our guys to lose by 14-21+ points.??
More receivers came online today.

We've got an SEC championship to compete for.

Oh we're losing regardless.
And Bama is going to cover.
If AR plays, he will be the only thing keeping it respectable. If he plays the majority of the snaps, he will be the only reason UF even has a shot at keeping Bama from covering...but we aren't winning. Grantham will absolutely see to it that we aren't winning, no matter what.

AR is that much of a beast, I agree.

If EJ takes majority...and AR plays minimal or not at all we lose by 4 TDs

Mullen has not lost Trask or EJ to the portal. But AR's ceiling is arguably better than both of those so there will be more pressure to go after him. I just don't see him transferring just for not playing this year, even if he does not start again.

That being said I can't imagine he won't start sometime this year. EJ has to run a whole lot more than throw and will get banged up eventually.

There were multiple reasons as to why we lost the game. Emory not being overly successful throwing the ball, throwing a pick that led to 7 points, the failed 2 point conversion, the BS calls against us in Bama's favor, or the missed extra point. In my mind, the single biggest reason we lost was because we started the game 21-3. It's difficult to dig yourself out of that hole against any team, much less Alabama. To successfully climb out of that hole we were going to have to be absolutely perfect on both side of the ball, which we're not capable of doing. We have to act faster on offense and defense against these teams to have a chance. The big positive was our OL opening up holes for Pierce and Davis. Against a team like Alabama, that was really impressive.

There is no excuse to have a record worse than 11-1 or 10-2 this year with our remaining games. Georgia has a great defense, but they look average at best to me on offense.

UGA is the only team on the schedule that should really challenge us. There is ZERO reason or excuse to lose to any other team on this pathetic schedule.

So…my teams might’ve been off, but the 10-2 isn’t looking as crazy. Also, did you ever respond to my “what’s the bet?” question when you speculated a little while back that Bama would never punt?

I don't think Bama gained any ground on the recruits attending the game. Maybe we can pick up a few of the highly rated ones.

I’ve got a sinking feeling that this game gives Mullen reason to continue to keep running Emory out there no matter what.

We’re going to get 1 year of a generational talent unless he transfers out.
He didn't very chipper on the sidelines. I expect he'll transfer. Discontent is already setting in.He's gonna have to sit all year. Jones damn sure ain't leaving early. He'll transfer and I don't blame the kid.

I haven’t been a huge EJ guy, but you guys realize Trask took a sack in the final play in Atl as well, right?

Fair enough. The difference is that EJ is obviously having a very hard time making decisions and letting the ball go. Almost every passing play is marked by EJ holding the ball too late. Even when he lets it go, it's late. He even rode the mesh point of the two-point conversion attempt ridiculously long - all the way into the hole.

I'm sure he did a lot to contribute to a better-than-expected performance today. It's just hard, at least for me, to not fault him for what is obviously his shortcomings, even in comparison to a redshirt freshman who has played so little. I, for one, will have to work hard not to saddle Emory with my feelings about what Mullen is choosing to do with his QBs.

Having said that, EJ probably performed better than I thought (feared?) he'd play today. I wish we would have won, and I think it was more possible than many thought, but I'm glad UF showed well even in a loss.
