EDIT: I see after I posted this Donk had already posted the defensive breakdown in an old thread like a retard. I haven't seen the offensive breakdown anywhere so here it is.

I haven't had a chance to watch the offense yet, but the defensive breakdown was fascinating. Of course, Grantham is gonna Grantham, we have no chance at a championship with him on our sidelines.

Is Johnny Bravo that guy's dad?
He is good though. Much better with DBs I think. He doesnt concentrate much on DL.

We need to hire him and 30-50 more like him to provide input to the coordinators.

Love these guys, wish I had access to the all-22
Yeah apparently UF got pissed somehow about him showing the All22 and threatened him. So he doesnt show that at all, jist sort of says "trist me" as to what is going on off screen. Not aure how he gets it or frankly how they can keep it from you if you make a FOIA request. Surely isnt exempt.

I really wish the networks would show all 22 also. No way to see what is going on, really.

Is our O line...good?

Feels weird to even ask. Idk if I'm prepared to believe that.

But after watching that offensive breakdown. Damn. Fantastic job by those guys.

Only watched the Offense video thus far. Main takeaways, in order of emphasis:

  1. Our O-Line is blocking well for the most part*
  2. OC Dan M had a great plan and was calling the right plays at the right time**
  3. EJ's limited to a first read on nearly every play, but it was working against Bama.**
  4. EJ's best pass play is a bad throw with PI called on the defense.
  5. RBs all looked good*
  6. TEs did everything asked, including blocking.
  7. WRs did everything asked, including blocking AND making bad throws get a PI called on the defense

*O-Line opening holes to make the RBs look good, as well as stupendous protection on pass plays (sans occassional Reese ole plays) was the biggest statement. For me, I don't naturally see this level of the game, but his breakdown hightlights and explains it well. This blocking (running and passing) was HUGE in this game, and was done against Bama. Dumpers want to point out that this isn't elite Bama teams we're used to seeing...ok, but it's currently viewed as one of the best in the nation. Moreover, I still get PTSD over our O-Line blocking eachother, so having players that not only give a QB time (Trask says 'thanks'), but can also open big running lanes is something I'm not used to UF being able to do. Insert Muschamp and a midline statement as I recall play after play of runs up the middle for no gain. This is a nice progression for the program, and I hope it continues.

**OC play calling was well timed, and seemed to know what to expect from Bama and how to beat it. There's some credit due there. Additionally, those plays are getting the first read open, for a QB not capable to go more than one read deep in the progression. That takes a LOT of luck, and relies on the ability of all involved to execute, but also some intelligent play calling on what defense you expect to see and how to gain an advantage. It hurts a bit to realize the QB limitations, esp as a RS Jr with 3yrs to have learned - either he can't learn, or the staff can't teach. I think there's a good bit of both at work here. BUT, to succeed, you need to recognize your limitations (as player, as coaches) and work within and around them. Seems we did that on offense.

There was a whiff or two by Delance IN PASS PRO, too. Im kind of surprised by Reese. He was pretty solid at Cowbell.

IMO Braun is our third best OL, though Eggy is really improving.

It's not elite. I think their DC may get fired any day and Saban just take over the DC or substitute one of his dozens of ex HC/DCs on staff.

It is also VERY undersized. Like they perhaps overcompensated trying to adjust to Clempson or someone else. It certainly isn't anyone in the SEC bc none of this conference's teams have a good enough pass offense to stress their previous versions of defenses.

They ARE still very talented. So it's a damn big deal that our OL handled them, regardless.

There is. It is the maddening thing about Mullinz. Sometimes he can seem like an elite OC. Then sometimes he loses three stupid games to end the season with Dak or Trash.

I wish there was consistent effort and preparation. It just hasnt been there.

MOST college QBs don't move from read to read and MOST coaches call one read plays (including SOS, look at the notes, although there were reads etc related to what the defense was doing). Dan especially calls one read plays with the other receivers just clearing out the play. Remember that one of the reasons All Pro Dak was a sixth round QB was bc he was scouted as not being able to read defenses or move through progressions in college.

I thought it was the networks and copyright threats. I’d have to go back and see the first video without the use where he explained it again.
