Too bad my legendary "What's your Gator level?" thread on the old GSMB is deleted and lost to history.

looks like Wobble brought some of it from the old board.

What Gator Level are you?

from that thread:

With all the you-aren't-a-real-Gator-fan accusations flying right and left from the elites among us this season, I think it's time we all start identifying ourselves with a proper fan ranking. After all, some of us are just plain damn more important Gators than others.

Level 13: Former/current Gator football or basketball player or coach
Level 12: Former/current Gator coach or athlete other sports
Level 11: Former UF student (graduate Bull Gator/big money booster)
Level 10: Former UF student (graduate small money booster)
Level 9: Former UF student (graduate non-booster)
Level 8: Current UF student (not yet graduated)
Level 7: Former/current employee of UF (non alum)
Level 6: Former UF student (dropped out)
Level 5: Former/current season ticket holder (non alum)
Level 4: Former/current resident of Gainesville
Level 3: Former/current resident of Florida
Level 2: Never set foot in the state of Florida
Level 1: Never set foot in the United States

Now we can identify ourselves by levels when there's a dispute. The member with the higher level will automatically win, as he/she is the superior Gator. This is extremely important and I think is going to solve a lot of future problems on the board.

Discuss.

I grew up a Gator fan, my grandfather was class of 1931. First live game was a 14-13 win over Southern Miss on 9/22/73 in Tampa for my 12th birthday. First visit to (then) Florida Field was a 40-14 win over SMU.

Enrolled in January 1980, graduated in August 1983. Came back for post-bacc work 1985-87. Season ticket holder for 24 years, 1990-2013. I attended 3 SECCG (3-0 including 2 wins over Bama and 1 over Arkansas.) I own an SOS autographed helmet and 1997 F$U “game ball” he personally autographed to me, among other memorabilia.

Yeah, I’m a fan.

Well start me out at a 12, since for 2 days I was a member of the golf team
Subtract 2 points since it was quickly determined I wasn't good enough to be on the team (Bishop thought about it for two weeks then said no)
Subtract 4 points since it was the golf team
Subtract 5 points since my father graduated from Duke
Subtract 3 points since my father was born in Georgia
Subtract 5 points since a golf pro who's father was a assistant coach at Georgia is a very good friend.
Add 1 point since my son graduated from Florida

Score -6. :(

I took a flag football course as an elective at UF.

Do I get to claim myself as a UF athlete?

:fear:

I can one up you I think. By now my Golf team career was in the distant rear view mirror, but I was playing golf practically every day with some of the guys on the team. I needed an elective to finish undergrad. I took the golf elective. Some deal with a "teacher" who didn't know how to grip a club. It was on the ROTC field. I just hung out and looked as bad as I possibly could.

I can’t remember the name of the field where we “practiced” plays. But it was those empty fields By the education buildings across 13th St.

I don’t even remember there being flags. I think it was basically two hand touch.
