I love the Ryder Cup and have always enjoyed the competition for something other than money. It is an awesome event that I watch every time. However, its really a bit of a farce now since the majority of all the Europeans are full time PGA players. It is really just natural born Americans vs 1st Gen immigrants now.

Good point @neteng about the Europeans. It really is just a bunch of PGA Tour players competing against each other. But I, too, love the Ryder Cup. I love seeing match play, different formats, and the passion that the event brings out in these players.

It’s a runaway at this point. The Europeans were pretty much crushed. Fleetwood kind of summed up their efforts, missing two 4-ft birdie putts in his match that most likely would have led to a win. Kinda feels like the crowd has them shook up while the USA seems to be feeding off of it.

USA ended Day 1 with its largest lead in 46 years.

And the R, W & B is off to a good start today, leading in 3 matches, trailing in one.

Time to go mow the yard.

USA 9, Europe 3 after the Saturday morning session.

5.5 more points needed to win the cup for the USA.

Cover’s mvps / lvps so far

mvps - Europe: Rahm, Garcia, Lowry. US: Anybody playing McIlroy and Poulter

lvps - Europe: Fleetwood, McIlroy. US: Speith and Koepka

11-5 US should be enough barring a series of collapses. I’m not much of a prognosticator, but I’d think that the US wraps things up within the first six singles. They have been very dominant and as one of the commentators said, Stricker has easily “out-captained” Harrington.
