Our defense is a farce. Out of position, lost and confused on at least 2 plays a series and poor tackling. Another game against inferior talent where they make drive ending mistakes versus the defense stopping.

I agree but I will still take this defense over last year's. It's at least doing a good enough job.

We have a QB rusting on the bench that could add 14-21 points total to our every game, just subbing a quarter's worth of playing time.??
Our $8 million dollar HC is dangerously holding us back from being all that we could be. How much better would this entire team be choogling along hitting on all cylinders.? However, if this Mullipulation, as the season ages, results in a top-notched "standard-star" QB in EJ finally bolstered by the dominating QB of the future (AR) = then DM sanctifies his reputation as "The QB Guru". ... AR must be chomping at the bit. I know I am. Gotta have AR ready to excel in the groove within this team's racetrack "machinery"-- especially to tear up Georgia for us to turn the corner at mach speed.??

Very mehhhhh.

Good enough for Dan Ball though I guess.
Definitely not meh when you factor in the rushing numbers. 144 rushing yards for a QB has to be close to a Gator record. I don’t remember what Tebow’s best single game rushing was but I don’t recall any 150 plus yard games. Then again I can barely remember what I had for breakfast (cheese grits and eggs with side of a leftover cheeseburger and sliced tomatoes).

I’m obviously only talking Gator QB. So correct me. Like I said I don’t have a great memory for stats, but what game did a Gator QB go over 144? I remember the game where Burton ran for a boat load of TD’s but I don’t think he had 150 yards. Maybe Tebow had a 150 plus yard game. Wouldn’t surprise me but I don’t remember it.

Just found it. Tebow went for 166 yards against Ole Miss in 2007. Still hard to call one of the top 3 or so rushing records for a Gator QB meh. Don’t get me wrong. I have no doubt AR is the better QB and likely will break Tebows single game record if given the chance.

What happens with EJ is pivotal to how the rest of Dan’s tenure will go. He’s gone the route of loyalty to this kid’s patience. AR already boasts the higher ceiling. But the run game is strong right now and not just because of one person, and Dan is starting to figure out what he can get from EJ as a passer. AR is the future, but our defense isn’t ready to contend just yet, and pulling the rug out from a loyal upperclassman QB who hasn’t provided enough bad looks to justify benching him makes Dan look like Kirby.

I can’t explain Dan’s initial attachment to Franks, but EJ brings the run game to his QB play in a way Franks never did and others have pointed out that Dan was going to start Trask on a couple occasions when Kyle got unluckily injured before he could. EJ is tough to watch in the passing game at times, but he did show improvement today and we haven’t lost because of him yet.

AR can take it to another level no doubt, but Dan has dug in his heels and decided not to be as fickle as Kirby and his musical chairs and whispered promises at QB. It’s blown up in Smart’s face at UGA and Mullen wants a deep roster at QB without people up and transferring. I guess he figured the best way to avoid that problem is lay the ground rules and make guys wait their chance to step up after injury or in the off/pre season.

If EJ flourishes, and we work out the defense, we’re looking at a good run over the next three years as we transition to AR. If EJ flatlines and Todd stays Todd, then Dan will be the dude who wasted AR and what could have been. He already carries that burden from 2020 for keeping the slob as DC and wasting a world class offense. This situation is his chance to turn it around or seal his fate and he’s already decided how he’s going to approach it.

Of course 3rd/4th and Grantham can blow this all up by his big sloppy self. DBU is a fading memory.

Big blowouts usually involve a few turnovers if not defensive and/or ST scores. Our best defenses and teams have done that, there was pressure that we might score on any play in the game. We aren’t doing either. Just 1 INT so far? No effort to block a punt.

I don’t get putting Malik Davis at KR. Graham is supposed to be a gifted returner with the quicks & speed to break big plays. Where is he? Henderson looks like he could break a punt return but those are more rare these days as punters seem to have much more hang time, generally.

I see we are hoping this offense and def. is an illusion and Dan is gonna crash and burn and Anthony is already in the transfer portal.
EJ has a tebow day against a much hated rival and its ...meh.........:britney:

gotta be a pumper.......looks to happy and enthusiastic.

Dan’s attachment to Franks was likely that he was a the more “willing” runner and looked roughly equal to Trask as a passer early on. Their stats weren’t very different although Trask always looked more competent in doing it. Trask’s steady work ethic, game savvy and improvement bore exceptional fruit.

How can AR be satisfied with his role when his coach won't let him roll.? If this QB delay works, then that can become Mullen's QB mastery. GatorNation can only hope AR accepts and does not defect. My lack of assurance is actively thwarting my enjoying these games this season.

Without AR can anyone feel like we are rolling conquerers.? Ready to demolish all foes at any venue.? Added to that we then have that excruciating worry that AR will get fed up with being hidden from well-deserved fame and so, will become a non-Gator.? Mullen's QB situation, this AR blackout is shutting down out Gators' electricity. I cannot wait for AR to play. Can AR.?

Wondering the same thing about Graham, maybe he’s injured? Would definitely rather see him replace Elam and Henderson for PR duties, if coaches don’t want him playing both KR and PR. We have better quality depth at RB.

No fireworks but we took care of business in impressive fashion. Is it possible, as intoned by BNA, that the mehness of this win has as much to do with the opponent as the manner in which we did it?

You want to talk about meh. The 1984 team, which was arguably one of our best. It just bruised its way through the schedule with the Great Wall running interference.

An “OK” win against a JV team with two shytty QB’s and no talent or depth.

Some D coord is going to stop the run and make us stretch it out. I see a sorry loss or two on the horizon.
