The Konami Code (aka Contra Code), the code you would use in games made by Konami.

You are talking about Gradius

I also enjoyed playing quake on PC. Me and a couple friends would play as a team online and smoke fools with extreme prejudice.

my weapon of choice was the grenade launcher. I could lob that thing for a direct hit on anyone near or far.

I forgot about Zaxon. Loved that growing up.

I couldn’t remember the name of the game where you jump from tombstone tombstone in my last post. Was it ghosts and goblins? I don’t even know if that sounds right.

Donkey Kong Jr. was super fun as well. Remember the Simpsons game? That was really fun. Teenage mutant ninja turtles like you mentioned above was really fun as well.

And the game that gave me fits? Shinobi. I could never beat it.

Played Pong when it first came out. Thought the whole concept was prettty stupid and haven't played since. Have video games gotten any better?

The Atari consoles also a paddle wheel controller you could use for "pong-like" games. These games required no real thought, but I enjoyed playing them. As the levels got harder, you had the opportunity to release more balls into play and I somehow had the hand-eye coordination to manage 3. 4 was too much and was a near instant crash and burn. After you clear a board, a new board would appear. If you were really good, you could time it where balls got trapped between the ceiling and the top rows.

There was a game that used that wheel remote control. Called Night Driver. The game was a PITA.

I was always fond of Grand Prix. Remember it had the occasional oil slick?
