I sat next to a players mom last night during the game (he's a former 5-star LB who only plays STs right now). She had A LOT of damning things to say about the team and coaches. She said: there's a problem in the locker room (team is divided, no camaraderie), there is definitely a 'seniority' issue w/ who plays, that there is no punishment/accountability for penalties and poor performance (no risk of being benched), that players miss meetings, are late to meetings, miss workouts, etc and there is no punishment for it. She said she expects several younger players to transfer out w/ the new transfer rule. It was very eye opening.

Then it's beyond time for a new staff.

All the way to the top. Above the head coach even.

Just opens up more roster spots for the next coach to get studs. Mullenz recruiting has been dismal, so it won't be that big a loss...

I wanna facepalm you for this. When he's talking about a 5 star (my guess is Wingo, especially with how LB play has been), players I don't want to lose the ones we might have. Also, this would sound like with some young guys we'd see AR15 and other quality young guys bounce. That would screw our depth moving forward as well. And it would hurt recruiting because you know the players transferring would let recruits know.

I heard from this dudes friend’s sister in law’s cousin that their next door neighbor has a lawn guy who knows this chick at Starbucks that heard from their best customer that there’s a problem.

Probably one of the main things that keeps 5 star recruits from coming is probably the reputation that no matter how good you are, you won't play any meaningful snaps until your third year. It just makes sense now come to think of it.

Sonovabiitch! So McElwain never left, he just did some Face Off thing with Mullen? If only that was the case. Part of Mullen’s problem I think is that he’s all into this Woke crap, models and espouses it as about the only way he thinks he can connect with the kids. Win them over by being one of them. I thought we could’ve done worse when he was hired. Looking like I couldn’t have been more wrong. First real sign was when he didn’t retain Ja’Juan Seider, the only recruiter within a thousand miles of the program. It’s been in decline since, but somewhat masked by the relief of being rid of McElwain mixed in with a few wins here and there. The fading paint is giving away to a lot of rust and bondo. Time to unload this clunker.

I appreciate the self control..

my thoughts are, I would gladly trade a 5* and several other recruits if it would be the catalyst to get this staff kicked to the curb. We aren't going to win anything with Mullet, even if he had better talent, he doesn't know how to use it...

This is all that needs to be said. The guy recruits average at best and when you consider that UM and FSU have been an abortion for the last 3 or 4 years it's almost sickening we haven't even sniffed a top 5 class. Not a knock on some of our players but there is a reason we see a lot of 4th, 5th and 6th year players on these teams....they wait their turn instead of winning a spot. :headslap:

Years ago I used to be a big boxing fan. In boxing there are fighters who are known as "Journeyman". A Journeyman was a guy who had a good amount of experience, some technical skills but lacked either the desire, training, support or even the physical ability to challenge the top contenders within the sport....

Our program reminds me a lot of that term from the bottom to the top....
