He reminds me a lot of Dallas Baker “the touchdown maker.” I see a bunch of similarities between them. Hopefully he’ll produce as well as Baker did on the field.

Carter doesn’t have any eligibility left
He RS in 2017, played in 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021.

He can exclude 2020 if he wants like everyone else and come back.

The only people who cant come back are Moon, Wells and Stewart Reese who already excluded 2020 to get an extra year. The DL transfers are out of eligibility, I think.

Carter wont stay though.

I could also see Garage and White leaving. Theyve had great years when not hobbled.

Oline guys usually don’t leave early unless they are lock 1st/2nd round guys and almost never interior guys like white. With limited roster spots oline rarely gets to develop while on the NFLs dime so they tend to benefit from the extra year of S&C they can get at a top college program if they’re not already elite

Well he is the highest rated in-state recruit we have right now, so while I agree it isn't taking back the state, these are the type of players we need to start landing, so from that stand point, I am glad we at least got this one.

All kinds of this. I just want to see us "take back the state" some day. This is a baby step.

Florida Top 10 and top 30 in the state:

2007: 7 & 11
2008: 1 & 5
2009: 3 & 5
2010: 5 & 10
2011: 1 & 7
2012: 1 & 6
2013: 2 & 9
2014: 0 & 5
2015: 2 & 3 (Butters transition class)
2016: 2 & 4
2017: 0 & 4
2018: 0 & 3 (Mullen transition class)
2019: 2 & 4
2020: 1 & 7
2021: 1 & 4
2022: 0 & 4

How has IMG impacted Florida high school rankings? Technically IMG should be categorized differently. And there’s a school in Clearwater now. Some international school. Shoud probably be categorized the same way.

How many IMG kids in the Florida top 20 by recruiting year? Most are out of state kids:

2007: 0
2008: 0
2009: 0
2010: 0
2011: 0
2012: 0
2013: 0
2014: 1
2015: 1
2016: 5
2017: 9
2018: 4
2019: 4 (Top 3 were IMG)
2020: 2
2021: 5
2022: 8

The numbers need some clarification though. In the Meyer era but also under Chimp we were landing higher ranked top 150/250 kids from across the country instead of focusing on Florida recruits.

We can bttch about IMG all we want. Some of their kids are from out of state but most are instate. Clown Town, scUM, Ugly and Bammer have no problems recruiting there.

If there is a powerhouse program in your state and our staff doesnt own it, its on them. There is no excuse for this ongoing lazy Butters/Mullinz recruiting.

even correcting for the IMG kids say taking the top 28 or top 38 or whatever instead of top 20 or top 30 doesn't make our classes look any less pathetic.
