Pretty sure in Florida that kind of thing would be an ethics violation.

How does that not amount to extortion? How can somebody commit illegal or ethical violations, get fired, and then use that against a company?

If he was directed to or had the blessing of the school/AD to commit the violations, then he can sue.
Let's pray to God he did. UT fans are seeing some hope these days, and I don't like that at all. It would be great if their hopes were crushed flat by recruiting violations coming to light.

I'm only talking about the attorney's ethical duty.

Using the threat of something like this to get a bigger settlement check is likely an ethics violation in FL.
