And this surprises who after his post game comments? We knew this after the post game press conference.

Favorite quote:
"That’s what we look at," Mullen said. "The inconsistencies that we’ve had throughout the course of the season that we’re looking at. We have one game we went on the road and had 15 penalties and then the next game on the road we had zero. We’re just looking at the inconsistencies and how we shore up the inconsistencies and play at a more consistent level."

So if the issue is inconsistency, it's not an offense, defense, or special teams thing, it's organizationally. And whom is that CEO?

You didn’t actually think Mullen was going to capitulate to public opinion, did you? He’s doing just the opposite. He’s digging in his heels.

Were always out of position, always missing tackles, taking bad angles, making poor decisions, dealing with confusion over whos responsible for whom/what, and playing undisciplined. This isn't something that just appeared against LSU, its something we've seen consistently for 4 seasons. It's coaching, its scheme, it's lack of preparation, and the absence of accountability within the locker room. This starts and is only fixed at the top. Why in the cinnamon toast **** is he pointing at the players?!?!?!

For all intents and purposes, the Mullen experiment is over. He is a lame duck coach even if he is here for another season.

Mullen is the kind of guy that will burn the program down to the ground on his way out. I expect him to do everything in his power to get AR to transfer. He will demolish the next two recruiting classes and smile while watching.

Because that's who he is and what he's always done. We used to mock the Chimp for saying "that's on me, I'll get it fixed", but we've never heard Mullen say ANYTHING like that, ever. He acts like he's a helpless bystander and has no control over anything.

And I think Hevesy after the UK game was the only time he's ever mentioned a specific coach.

Muschamp and Zook had a lot of faults and were garbage head coaches, but at least they cared... I can't say that about Butters or Mullen. But Butters and Mullen are the same CEO. Loyal to a fault, blaming the players, and are too brilliant that us basic fans can't understand their genius.

For all intensive purposes if he can’t be trusted, he needs to go yesterday…

I would interpret the OP statement as "we are going to change the coaching staff as contracts expire." Probably because the AD has told the coach that the only way to fire an underperforming staff member is for cause, with absolutely no chance of residual compensation. I actually had a CEO tell us that before an acquisition - didn't want to give the acquiring entity any concerns about what they were getting.

The way I see it, one of two things is happening. He’s either giving fans and the media the finger (which in turn could point to him knowing he’s on the way out) or he’s actually convinced himself that Grantham can redeem himself on the relative weakness of the balance of the schedule.

If your not going to fire Grantham now then let him make Gatorade or something and give Coach Turner a try at the helm, hell he can't be any worst.

And in both scenarios he needs to be fired.

Given his ego, gotta go with the first option. If we had a real AD, we'd fire Mullen today and keep the rest of the staff until the end of the season. No need to fire Grantham if his contract is running out.
