It was hard with Smoltzie with him. Smoltz is probably my favorite player from the 90’s teams. You could tell Smoltz wanted to break out cheering towards the end but had to keep it even and proffesional. Just cracked me up that it took until the seventh inning last night for Buck to realize they were going to win and he finally had to list their accomplishments after blowing the Astros for 5 and 2/3 games.

Buck had to kind of shove it in Smoltz's face with the comment "yeah, 16 division titles but only one world series championship". Smoltz wanted to say "Fuchs you Joe Buck, you Kyle Schwarber Man-Crush fruitcake, no one would have ever heard of you if it weren't for your father."

Funny thing is Smoltz did his job in those and is unfortunately the losing pitcher of record in probably the greatest World Series game ever. Guy was a beast as a starter and then became the second best closer in baseball at the time behind Rivera.

I can't stand Buck either, but I gotta hand it to the guy: he definitely out-kicked his coverage.

As a lifelong Braves fan it was great to finally see them reach the top again. The biggest tease in sports has finally ended. This was the most complete and dominant Braves team I’ve ever seen. I think they’ve won 27 of their last 30 games… that’s an insane baseball stat. And they’ve never had live bats in the postseason like they did this year. If they can keep the core of this group, while adding Acuña back to the mix, they could make legit run for the ages. This is a badass team.

I hope they are able to keep both Solar and Rosario, but it means they have to open the wallet which Liberty Media has never wanted to do. If they ever let Freeman retire anywhere other than a Braves uniform then they deserve to be tarred and feathered. It sucked watching Murphy retire elsewhere

Your assumption is close. They were 23-7 over the last 30 games. 55-32 since the all-star break and that includes the post-season. Best in the MLB.

I could see them getting rid of d’Naraud. Couldn’t throw anyone out at second.

He signed a two year extension toward the end of the season. The Braves staff loves the guy. People often forget that during his 3 month injury absence the Braves used at least 6 other catches to fill the void.

I haven't followed baseball in such a long time, but it will be interesting as hell to see who they keep and who they deal away. Seems like an embarrassment of riches in the outfield with the injured players like Acuna waiting to suit back up. Rosario and Soler were impressive as hell to me in the postseason, which is all the baseball I've watched since the old-school Braves of the 90s went away.

They really were. Duvall and Pederson will probably go to arbitration for declining the mutual option. Solar and Rosario are FA so they need to lock at least 2 of the 4 up. Solar would be perfect if they go universal DH

I would like to see Rosario, Soler, and Acuna roaming the Braves outfield. I hope they are able to sign Freeman to another contract too.
