Others have mentioned that the flu has miraculously ceased to exist since March of 2020, so this is really freaking odd. It's looking more and more like a player revolt. If it is, Mullen has to go NOW. The question is, have his bosses even bothered to do an investigation to see if it's true? I doubt it. I'm sure both Fuchs and Stricklin hate the idea of actually doing their jobs.

I thought the same think when I read Mullens comments about the flu. Of course we all know about the "Blue Flu" that the cops in big cities have been using for years to protest lay offs and other labor issues. I guess you can call the Cock game our first team wide case of the "Orange and Blue" flu. One of the first things Stricklin should have done was to get feedback from the team. He claims that this was done for the Lady Gator basketball coach issue. But not in this case?

I don't think it is an organized thing. If things are going shtty at work, do you feel like coming in on those days when you are slightly ill or slightly hurt?

The motivation just isnt there.

It reminded me of Ken Griffey Jr with the Reds. When he was hurt, why hurry back to rejoin a 100 loss team? Now if he were in a playoff hunt, you can bet he would have limped back even at 50%. But there is just no motivation when nothing is in play.

Even if the bull shyt flu story is correct you still go play the damn game. I've never heard of a player at any level miss a game with the flu.
Didn't Michael Jordan win an NBA Championship playing with the flu? A sport that is much more cardio demanding than Football with less breaks and substitutions. Not a big MJ fan but got to admire him for that playing through the flu triumph. This MuLLLLLenz team makes me sick.

Really? Shirly you're not serious. I've heard of it plenty of times. Flu nope, not playing. Cold, man up. So what's he doing escalating a few guys with the sniffles to the flu. Not buying it.

more importantly, make him eat the losses.

fire him publicly like we did Zook, effective end of the year, and make him eat the losses on his record.

Butters resume shows that he didn't lose the last four games in November. Fuchs that.

if we're going to pay a millions make him stand there and look stupid.

Id be glad to cut Dwagtham immediately.

This is a great point. He needs to get run out of town w/ the record he deserves.

we have literally no one capable of being interim HC or interim coordinators on this staff.

Jules? who? Knox? Hev? The Dwag GA Robinson?

Maybe they should just ask the players who they’d want on this staff to coach the last 3 games. Maybe there’s one guy they actually like and will play hard for.

It really not about playing HARD.

It is about playing together.

And running good plays.

It can't be done in three games.

Orange & Blue Flu.
Don't they require the team to get regular old flu shots?

Yeah the flu thing is interesting....

Either Covid has magically gone away and we drew the short straw for the flu returning and attacking us first or.....something else is going on

That's my guess (he won't leave on his own due to the money). But he could negotiate a lesser buyout to "leave on his own" rather than get fired (his ego may not be able to handle getting fired!). Who knows? Jimmy Sexton AND Dan Mullen hold all the cards right now. Stricklin is about as lame duck as Mullen is due to the wbb situation, so I'm not sure he'd make a move right now.
The only buyout he and his agent will negotiate to leave is getting 100% of the money. He's been trying to get fired for a long while now.

At this point I say screw him, make him finish out the season. He can't do any more damage than he's done. Work on the next hire of course, but make the quitter doosh face the fans, the team, the press every week. Embarrass the shlt out of him every week and keep him from heading on vacation until he finishes his job. Then fire him during his final pressor on air. And if he makes one verbal slip up or doesn't make effort to prepare the team or recruit, fire him for cause and make him sue for his buyout.
