We surrendered to apathy when we hired Cousin Eddie. It was a sign that average to below average was good enough

I prefer to think we surrendered to bad circumstances. It was a weak field. Maybe it’s time to rethink the idea of a temporary permanent.

He’s just ****ing loser. I’ve known that from the beginning but he just let the entire team down.

Edit: I did not realize he was this big of a loser. I just thought he was a warm body that knew a little about football that would be an upgrade from McStain. But How did he get here being this big of a loser?
Success at MSU is not on the same level as UF. However one can get a false sense of security by thinking " Well he's done a fine job at State, with what Florida has to offer he should win championships". An so things are taken at face value and no deep analysis is necessary, wrong!

He had no success. He was on a mild hotseat and many were surprised he survived the losing season and loss to a geographic school he had the year before we hired him.

His "success" was shuffling their schedule to play only 1AA or G5 teams out of conference and the luck of him getting two more cupcakes a season that most previous coaches (with 11 or 10 game seasons).

And Kintucky as a permanent. Back then he used to beat Kintucky.

That is 5 automatic wins every year and he averaged 1.5 more wins.

That wasnt success.

if the only option was Dan mullen, we should have punted and waited till the next year, if it meant making GAs acting coordinators. Hell we have a Dwag GA as an acting coordinator right now

And don't forget when at Cowbell they throttled that incredible RichRod led Michigan team in a bowl. That clearly jaded everyone into thinking Cowbell was a major contender by beating big mighty Michigan, LOL

The MSU grads I've talked to were pretty satisfied with Mullen. They did say his recruiting could be a problem at UF. I guess They've resigned themselves to being a doormat to Alabama.

The fact that people would have fired Cousin Eddie for this or that or in this year or that year clearly knew nothing about Cousin Eddie. If you watched his career as OC at UF riding Leyer's coattails and then as HC at Cowbell, you would never have had to make these declarations b/c you never would have wanted the dumbass hired in the first place. Cousin Eddie sold ice to a few Eskimos but those days are over. Perhaps he will land in Baton Rouge, yes that Baton Rouge, as head coach of Grambling!!!

Anyone watching that interchange with Wright and still thinking he’s here next Monday is insane. He literally couldn’t care any less and is as defeated as a human being can possibly be.
It actually shocks me how many people have been holding onto this idea that Numbnuts isn't getting fired because of woke. He hasn't wanted to be here all season, and no one can stand the SOB. We still have to wait one more week then he's gone, and most likely we announce our new Coach very shortly after.

Luckiest sombitchh to ever walk the planet. 7-45 vs rank opponents and making 7.6 million a year which when he got the raise and extension put him in top 3 highest paid college coaches. How this ever happened will always be a mystery. I will say, Sexton has to be a freakin' genius.

Don’t we open with Utah next season ? Utes might just whip us in the swamp
Did you actually say might?? :bwahaha:

The only chance we would have of beating them would be if Whittingham was hired as our new coach. I'd actually take him in a heartbeat (queue Donk to tell us how much he would suck) but that ain't happening.
