he was fired at Clemson
You're right!

After a 2009 season where Clemson would go on to win the ACC Atlantic Division behind the strength of Napier's offense that scored a then school record 436 points, a steep reduction in Clemson's offensive output led to Napier's termination at the end of the 2010 season. Within only a few weeks of being dismissed as OC at Clemson, Napier was contacted by Nick Saban from Alabama and offered a job as an offensive analyst.

We have to remember that Stricklin looks at most things through a baseball lens. Baseball is chess, not pinball.

I didnt even really know who he was 2 days ago so my first reaction was 'who?'

I did a lot of looking at him yesterday and see a lot to like about him. If he brings the same approach here that he did there then I am good with it because it probably means he forced our UAA to do the things needed to compete now. The whole butters thing really scares me though and Im scared our offense is going to be run heavy possession ball but I kinda think with what I have read about him thus far he understands that the transition to Florida from UL will mean he will need to build a SEC caliber staff and his days of being the HC and OC will be done.

So for me, right now without knowing how he builds his staff I will be okay with the hire but as soon as he starts bringing his Sun Belt staff I will jump the fence pretty quick.

EDIT: There are rumors out there that the reason he was fired from Clemson is because he put Dabo on the ground with a punch because he found out that Dabo was changing his plays on the ground during games. That makes me like him a lot more and though it is heresay so is the whole stuff people are saying about him being too loyal to his assistants.
now this is where most fans will be if this hire comes through.

Ftr, according to the 247 site, and someone posted the rumor from another as well, the reason Napier was fired at Clemson was because he punched Dabo in the face. Supposedly, DS kept changing calls on the field and got in his face in the locker room about it afterward. Napier then dropped him. No idea if it's true or not, just passing along, and doesn't change everything, but kind of funny and at least shows passion.

Again, I don't know if we'll win. What I do know is that Napier is going to put on a Hazmat suit and fumigate every damn system in our program, and that's a good thing.

If this is his approach then count me in.

Everyone talks about how we need to recruit better and we need a stronger coaching staff and so forth and all of this is true.
However, I believe that the biggest challenges to UF’s football program are internal versus external.
If Napier can negotiate true alignment within the university (and by alignment I mean getting all the woke a$$holes out of the way) the other stuff will take care of itself and he will be successful.

As to concerns about his accent I would point out that SOS doesn’t exactly sound like an Ivy League professor so who cares.

"Butter Redux"....

Terrible take. Guy has a much better record and recruiting record than Shark Humper ever had at CSU and has played for his conference championship unlike Butters. Hell everyone loves Hugh Freeze, yet Napier has curb stomped him every time they have played.

"Nobody Knew Who He Was".....

Uh yeah thats why Auburn and USCe tried to hire him last year and failed. Hell Auburn fans today still want him over Harsin.

Listen you can hate the hire but you also don't have to come on here and be CNN about the guy either.

Huh? Butters had us in TWO SECCGS! Keep making things up though.
