None of that was made up. If you would like to refute my statements, please do though but back it up with logic this time.

thats literally what I just did. You said Butters has never played in a conference championship game.I then said he played in two of them as OUR head coach.

Ftr, according to the 247 site, and someone posted the rumor from another as well, the reason Napier was fired at Clemson was because he punched Dabo in the face. Supposedly, DS kept changing calls on the field and got in his face in the locker room about it afterward. Napier then dropped him. No idea if it's true or not, just passing along, and doesn't change everything, but kind of funny and at least shows passion.

Yeah. I saw that. There’s a huge spin engine going on right now. I don’t believe that for a moment.

I also saw a thing that said he doesn’t want to go to LSU because of the title 9 investigations and because he’s a Christian he finds it to be offputting.

If LSU actually offered him he would be gone in a second.

it's really weird.

he is Jim McElwain's protege but he is truly Will Mushdump's dream coordinator.

run run run run run.

I really expect us to lock up last in the SEC in offense.

you have to wonder if they're going to make another run at Chimp as defensive coordinator.
Absolutely. No doubt we'll be dragging the bottom on offense in THIS conference. In 1990 SOS changed the dynamic forever in the SEC and you can't win here unless you have a DOWNFIELD passing game with SPEED. Hiring a guy that believes in 1970's football where run possession is king is going to look like pretty damn comical to the DCs across the conference. I can assure you none of us will be laughing here...

I know, right? Thankfully there is no spin engine here

I just dont know Ox. What I do know is that the media has been high on him for a while. His name has been floated quite a bit in many of the recent coaching openings.

I dont know enough about him to feel confident or upset. Does this guy even thumb wrestle? Does he know what a midline is? Is he a deep water shark fisherman?

All jokes aside, if he is the guy I would just have one thing to say to him.... Great moments are born out of great opportunity, thats what you have here today, gentlemen.

Hell, Auburn offered him LAST year and he declined. The hate is strong with you.

I just don’t think there’s any way that Stricklin has hired Napier after one visit. And not interviewed anybody else.
It was a done deal already. The only purpose of the meeting was to make sure he'll be tolerant of Fuchs and the rest of our administration.

You're right!

After a 2009 season where Clemson would go on to win the ACC Atlantic Division behind the strength of Napier's offense that scored a then school record 436 points, a steep reduction in Clemson's offensive output led to Napier's termination at the end of the 2010 season. Within only a few weeks of being dismissed as OC at Clemson, Napier was contacted by Nick Saban from Alabama and offered a job as an offensive analyst.
Don't you think Saban wanted to know what Clemson was doing? They were main competition to win win it all for the next few years.

There are parts about Napier I like and parts that scare me. But, I'm willing to give the guy a chance as too many people who know how he operates like him. If slingblade builds a good staff and is able to get the admin to spend the money on a massive support staff, then this hire is already a win. The last 3 coaches couldn't get the admin to do this. Time will tell.

The biggest question by far is the OC question. Will he bring in a OC or pull a Mullen?

I'm hoping he brings someone in, I don't like a head coach being a coordinator as well - he needs to be freed up to oversee the entire program.

Clemson was coming off a 9-5 season with a 6-7 one on the way...it was Dabo's 3rd year....Clemson wasnt remotely close to being a concern for Saban

Lots of good stuff. I especially like if he knocked the shyt out of Dabo for messing with his offense. ATTITUDE, we need some of that.

If he's the guy, I like the support staff and building the program from the bottom up. Mega expansions to our personnel and a totally different mindset and approach. That's what the pumpers are pushing right now so if it's legit and his plan is for that here, I like that alot.

However, if he demands to bring his mickey mouse Sunbelt staff and wants to continue his run first run always run out the clock offense, I don't care how big the staff or improved the facilities are, his ceiling will be middle of the SEC.

You don't beat Bama, Georgia or even teams like LSU and Auburn anymore by running. Winning big in this league requires an aggressive down field attack. And I don't care how good he is at crootin, he ain't better than kirbs and Nick so we need something else. A passing game would be a big assist, especially with blue chip Florida kids wanting to play in those type offenses.

Show up with a plan to bring in top assistants and commit to a downfield offense and I'm on board. Bring that Sunbelt crap and you guys can email me when we've moved on.

Mostly true, but he didn't "punch" him, exactly. There's security cam footage. Walked right into Dabo's office and bashed him with his clipboard.
