His record is like 50-48.

Just another one of those guys whose internet hype doesnt compare to his actual resume.

I actually don’t hold his record at FIU against him nearly as much as I do the annual 2-3 losses at Oregon. There just isn’t any justifiable reason for losses like we saw Saturday. I’d be ok with the recruiting, but I think we’d cool very quickly on him once here.

Yeah, I remember people saying that about wiLLLLLLLLLy T's losing record too.

Urban and SOS tookover 9-10 loss teams and turned them around immediately. It is what the great coaches do.

You are what your record says you are.

tthere are some things that are obviously going to affect it such as a team like FIU playing 3-4 money games where they are sacrificed for 500K+ to a P5 team.

works the other way too like with Mullen at Cowbell demanding four baby seals to whack out and no real games on the out of conference schedule.

But still, the record matters.

If Bob Stoops has any itch or inclination to get back into the game, then IMO this is his tailor made opportunity. He has instant credibility with the fanbase. He's 60, not 100 like some people think. His good buddy Spurrier is in place and would give him his endorsement. Frankly the stars couldn't align better for him, IF he actually wants to. Yeah the cupboard is bare right now but he can fix that. I'd vote for it.
Ha ha ha. Was thinking that to myself all day. “Yeah, the lazy players”.

I always thought players hated a really good strength coach. ????

Anybody that's coached for the d*ck ducks out west should not even be considered for UF! Look at that turd they hired at free shoe useless and what he did in short order! They may do well in that weak arse conf but they get there arses kicked when they leave duckville!! So I'd say F-NO to anybody that's hanging there hat on winning with the ducks!!

I remember when they were hailing Butters as a great recruiter, all those QBs, HaHa-Dix, Dee, on and on.

Then Suns came to us and failed to land a DT for two straight classes, goes back to Bammer and destroys it on the trail again.

Im pretty over assuming that a "good recruiter at Alabama is a good recruiter elsewhere.

I agree with you on this! I think to many people are willing to be ok with a coach because he was on Nick's staff at some point!! Look at butters he was on his staff before the great death threat joke he made up!! So don't be so quick to jump on the "he worked for Saban" bandwagon!! JMO

No real disagreement on the idea that it doesn’t always translate. The one area where I see it as different is that McElwain wanted to walk in and have it running that way already. His demeanor showed it. At least Napier changed a bad culture at ULL and would only come here if it meant he could change things here. The risk is there no question. But I think the effort is night and day.

Sunseri never wanted to be here, which explains the effort. Not sure why he even came. He was actively telling people(including my contact) he was going back to Alabama for months. Nice guy but total waste.

Ox, I gotta question the validity of your source, man. Why would Florida not inform the media and the fan base immediately if he was hired? It makes no sense not to.

it would make more sense for them to inform both fan bases, and for Napier, UF, and Louisiana to start pivoting around that information.

Explain to me (or don’t, whatever) why they would hold that close to the chest?

So with the story of Kiffin going to the Mannings trying to get Arch to agree to go to UF with Kiffin. Maybe the Mannings said “Fuchs no,” so Kiffin pulls his name out of contention?

The UF administration makes announcements when Ox tells them to, not the other way around.

@BruceFeldmanCFB: What we’re hearing on the Hokies search: Va. Tech has some interesting options; competing with UF and maybe some others for Billy Napier; Jamey Chadwell; and a strong group of assistants that include Mike Elko, Joe Moorhead and Marcus Freeman.
