Splash hire, you say? How about no water left in the entire pool at all hire?

Napier has a championship game to coach a week from Saturday. UF is not going to step all over Louisiana. So if he is the guy, they will not announce it until that game is over.

Unless it is someone like Stoops without a job, UF is not going to announce it until their regular season is over. That is what they did the last 2 hires. (I don't remember about Muschamp but he was an assistant anyway.) If it is a head guy somewhere, UF will not announce them until their last regular season/championship game is over.
Yeah I’ve thought the same, but still, it doesn’t make much sense. There’s no sense in playing hide and seek when it’s supposedly out there. It just creates more of a distraction IMO. And it’s not disrespectful to ULL or anyone else to just ‘rip the bandaid off’ if it is indeed true.

Selfishly, I just want this done with. If I have to accept this guy then so be it. Let me rally behind him now, only to shyt on him in the coming years which I inevitably believe will happen like the rest before him.

I think we should take a look at Brock Spack. Guy is a tough as nails coach, has taken lowly Illinois State to great heights including almost upsetting a Carson Wentz led North Dakota State in the National Championship game. He also has a killer stache
I know this is in jest, but interestingly enough, one of my lieutenants played on that team. He was the long snapper. They were ahead of nd state well into the 2nd half, then Wentz led a comeback to win the game.

That was a good game…sadly they came up just short.

The RB for the Jags, James Robinson, played there as well. He has an eye for talent

Mangino or Weis?
It the criteria is tipping the scales at a spring busting 350 pounds or more, able to destroy ice coolers at a single sitting, and being the best customer at the local Krispy Kream donut shop, those are your guys. And with Weis you don't have to pay much of an annual salary. Just be prepared to pay out obscene amounts of cash when you have to broom him!

Other than special teams there are only two aspects to the game of football, offense and defense. We know lane Kiffin knows how to score points in the SEC. Hiring him guarantees 50% of the coaching problem solved. Over the years UF has had great defenses. It seems like it would be smart to chose a coach like Kiffin. With the hiring of a decent DC and Kiffin, football could get exciting again.
