LSU keeps striking out.

He is in the market, but saying the right things. BS that he wants to stay in the Big12 long term - that conference is heading to G6 status and everyone knows it. And he has two top tier programs after him specifically. He would have to absolutely I've shiplap to want to stay there long term.

Cristobal would completely lock down recruiting in Florida. What I’ve heard and what I read is that he is a Miami guy at heart. Which is a problem. He actually got aggravated that Alabama was pulling kids from Miami. When he was there. But there’s speculation that Gainesville is close enough and that it’s not necessarily the school but the state.

That being said, the one thing he would have to do for me is get an actual OC. He is an OL coach. I think within two years we would have one of the better offensive lines in the country. And we would be a top three or four recruiting class in the country. Maybe top two or three. Nobody will be number one as long as Saban is coaching.

The thing that makes this different is the talks of an extension from Baylor. It's like coaching searches, every coach hired is the "first choice". They don't put that out unless Aranda has expressed a desire to stay.

a podcast I listened too said the boosters want him but Stricklin does not. Something happened at Ole Miss that immediately removed him as a candidate.

Yeah, he went to Mississippi. Since UF is apparently Mississippi State east now, being a coach at Mississippi ls disqualifying apparently.

Kirby had the #1 class in 2018, 2019, 2020, and currently has the #1 class of 2022. Beating Saban in recruiting is no longer just a fantasy, just have to get the right guy.

Best case scenario: Riley, Cristobal, or Napier at third.

Nightmare scenario: Campbell, Clausen, (insert name here).

Stop the Lane and Bob talk. Neither are happening.

Yeah I really don’t know much about Oregon. I know a lot about him Alabama. And I know a lot about his recruiting process. I am jumping the gun a bit by saying he should probably bring in a different OC but you probably know better than me.

Stoops is much like Napier to me. Likely short term and just meant to solidfy the program from where they are.

He managed to hire a slew of gunslinging OCs and theft the UO program in solid young hands. Hopefully he could donthe same here.

I do believe if Strick full court pressed Kiff from the jump, he'd have landed him, for better or worse but SPLASH!, no we're holding out for milk toast and hoping its like momma use to make.

I'd love to watch a potent offense but I also love to watch smothering defense. One of my favorite plays was watching Spikes plant Marino on his back grill to grill, "Boom $%#$". And let's not undervalue special teams. Under Meyer, they were without a doubt part of the reason we won 2 NCs.

Point being, give me a head coach that's going to run an enterprise. I don't want a glorified coordinator, I want a program builder (yes like Stricklin).
Don't let Donk hear you say, "CEO"

Other than special teams there are only two aspects to the game of football, offense and defense. We know lane Kiffin knows how to score points in the SEC. Hiring him guarantees 50% of the coaching problem solved. Over the years UF has had great defenses. It seems like it would be smart to chose a coach like Kiffin. With the hiring of a decent DC and Kiffin, football could get exciting again.
So, there are more than two aspects of the game of football? asking for a friend.

Cristobal would make recruiting really fun. He would dominate and load this talent up with so much talent. If he can also lure in the elite QBs, which I am sure he could do just as he does in Oregon, we would also be in serious title contention. The problem is that he doesn't seem like a great Xs and Os coach and loses some games that he shouldn't lose. He seems like a Jimbo Fisher type of coach that can build good staffs, recruit like a mad man, and have success, but also consistently drop some games here and there that he shouldn't.

I would take Napier over him and probably a few others also, but I would be okay with Cristobal as a fall back option. If he surrounds himself with a great staff this roster would be so loaded that it would be very hard to lose most of our games. He just needs to get the best coordinators and let them coordinate all of that talent.

I read that Oregon never had a number 1 ranked recruiting class before Mario became coach. He now has 4 number 1 classes in a row I believe.

One thing that has fueled Alabama for the past 10 years and now Georgia is that UF and the Florida schools have sucked so badly. They have taken our elite talent. With a coach like Mario or Napier Alabama and Georgia will become weaker because we will be able to keep a lot of that top talent in state. It's easy to cherry pick 5 star recruits from Florida when we have garbage coaches like sharklover and Mullen.
