It'll be interesting to see this play out. I could not find ONE Gator family member or friend happy with Napier at yesterday's festivities, even among the traditional UAA line toting ones. I was surprised I didn't get the company line about how great he was from even the usual suspects.

Three straight 10+ win seasons, including 11 last year and very likely 12 this season, and 4 straight best in conference recruiting classes doesn't make them remotely optimistic at all? Who exactly were they hoping for?

It’s odd to me to hear that we’ve locked on to one guy that’s also in consideration for a handful of other jobs. Seems a little fishy to me.
If we had sharp, savvy, guys running the UAA, it would be fishy and possibly an indicator of an ace up their sleeve. With this group it prolly just means we may be Fuchsed.

Someone who could manage a top 50, or even top 40 passing offense?

Even Dan did that once or twice a decade.

The last part of your reply is what I’m afraid of, even if it’s been par for the course for the past decade.

So winning is irrelevant now? I'm all for an effective passing attack, but the objective is to win. Guys like Leach, Mumme, etc. have thrown for a gazillion yards in their careers and have accomplished or won exactly nothing. We threw for more yards in '95 and '01 than we did in '96. It can't be overlooked but it also can't be the only factor.

Ox you must have a lot of time on your hands. Haven't seen you argue with the posters like this in a while. You are fighting a losing battle my friend, even SOS and Urban walked out the door eventually. All good things will come to an end, and the naysayers will always be able to point and say I told you so. Kind of like those nerds who always find statistical data to say they were right all along. I don't see anybody out there that could come in and put us back in contention for SEC Championships and National Championships. Not even Riley, unless you want to relive 2020 every year (sorry donk, it's fool's gold). Cristobal would bring in top 3 classes every year but we would lose too many that we shouldn't. Kiffy doesn't want to put the effort in recruiting, he can kick rocks.

Who knows, we may rise from the ashes like the cousin phuckers did. Then again, maybe not.

Napier's W/L record and his recruiting are exactly where we would want them to be, the hand-wringing is coming from his passing yards rankings. That's literally it. Suddenly passing yards are the only things that matter in college football.
