How crazy would it be if at the end of '22 or the year after that SC hired another UF coach and brought on Mullen. That would be so great to drag him for a second time.
He’s gonna end up being hired by some place like the cawks. Of course, he’s also gonna end up being fired by some place like the cawks.

Mullett leaves the SEC heading toward Div 2 with an overall SEC record of 54-53. Im sure that feels good. "Winning".

Over 4 years, Mullen earned almost 10 mil a year... Nick Saban money.

Butters earned Saban money too.

As did Chimp.

Boy, purchasing coaches on the cheap sure is cost effective.

My wife's grandmother had a great saying. To buy cheap is to buy expensive.

I think it's been established that he's really just not an SEC type of guy. :shakehead:

I still like that Akron gig for him, if Urbs doesn't hire him.

So, went to look for a Zips gif to post aaaannd.....hey now.

After this afternoon's news that Lincoln Riley is headed to USC, I may have to edit my take of Mullen being a talking head on TV. What are there, 20 jobs open now? He may get one of them.

Based on this evening's surprise development of Brian Kelly leaving Notre Dame for LSU, it is time to update my prediction of Mullen joining Urbs in Jacksonville.

Predictions in order of likelihood are now as follows:

1. Mullen leaves Jax for his "dream job" at Notre Dame, and Mullen goes with him as OC.

2. Mullen stays at Jax, and Mullen joins him there as an, "offensive analyst."

3. Urbs takes a hard pass on hiring Mullen so he ends up at Akron, unless the Dolphins QB Coach Charlie Frye (an Akron alum) takes the job.

Great coordinator, mediocre head coach. He was too inconsistent and ultimately that's what got him canned. With Mullen you got the highest of highs and the lowest of lows and his W-L ratio was simply too low.

I think he's done as a coach, including as an OC.

His next job: Broadcast and radio talking head. He won enough to have credibility and can talk all day long. He's like a college professor of college football. He reminds me in this respect of Rick Neuhesiel. He's a chubbier version of Rick but with some potentially great comments on a game. I think he's a broadcaster next. I think it will be in a couple of years. He'll take a year off, get tanned and skinny, end up at a network.

Fox? ESPN? SEC Network?
