I don’t like it. But all the more reason we needed a guy like Napier and absolutely couldn’t have another Mullen type of coach.
If Napier is legit (no reason to think otherwise) and Crtistobal returns home, NorveLLLLLLL is gonna get smoked on the trail.

Diaz is literally still out on the road recruiting.

Give him credit. Diaz is about to get shyt canned and he is on the road recruiting. Cousin Eddie would not even do that when he was getting his penus lapped by the Kool Aid drinkers when everyone thought he walked on water.

If Oregon makes the playoff, Cristobal won't be available until Jan 2nd at the earliest. Oregon has THE BEST facilities in CFB - Miami has probably the worse facilities in P5 football. They also are cash poor. Oregon gave him a new contract in Dec 2020: 6 years $27.3 million (less than $5mi/year). They'll match anything (and then some) what Miami offers.

Oregon Ducks coach Mario Cristobal gets new six-year, $27.3 million contract

Don't know when you last saw the facilities in Miami, but between 2018 & 2019 there was a massive upgrade in the entire football facilities. I believe it was 2019 also that the state-of-the-art inside practice facility was built. They even tore down 3 dorms that abutted the practice field (one of which was mine) and built additional work-out facilities. Being a small private school, no we don't have a huge number of boosters in comparison with UF but we do have some billionaire boosters and when they want something, the money seems to appear. It has been rumored that if we don't get Cristobal, the BOT will keep Diaz another year. Sometimes it is more than money that determines a decision. Cristobal is a Miami guy and his entire extended family lives there.

Updated coaching criteria for Oregon's search.

1) Wasn't born in, or has any ties to, Florida.

2) Nope. Just that.

Look at Miami pooling their money and getting their man. You have to admire that.

Cristobal could have shaken Phil Knight down if he wanted to stay at Oregon - it's obvious he wants the Miami job.
