One last note, in his 4 games against Saban and Alabama, Smart has been outscored 75-17 in the second half.

Eight quarters, 17 points, 1 pick-6 thrown, and one historically bad fake punt.

Half time adjustments show who is a good coach and who isnt.

To all the Gator fans, you are welcome. That was an embarrassing, humiliating beatdown for Georgia. I thought they would play better.

Look at the rankings of the teams that Georgia has beat. Not too impressive. Michigan will beat them, I think.

Alabama is in the cat bird seat now, playing Cincinnati in the first round of the playoffs.

My, how things have changed since the Iron Bowl. Who would have thought?

It sure was satisfying to beat Georgia that way. Again...

Why half time?

Any team can runout and do some things that take the other team by surprise, or just have success in one area that the opponent felt they could stop. Good coaches adjust. Sometimes you can do it in-game, but a lot of times it takes a few minutes during the half to offset with a new plan. See our 1995 ut game, or any Alabama/uga game played since 2016.

The crazy part about that stat is Mullen has been able to give Saban a better fight than Smart in his two tries because of that. In both cases he managed the game much better, which is telling. If uga doesn't have a top-3 roster talent-wise, you will see a 2016 type result.

So you're saying Mullen is a good coach?
He could be capable of being a good coach. But his laziness overcomes that.

It is the Mullen paradigm. Once every 8 years or so you get a strong offense. He is CAPABLE of calling an aggressive offense, but usually he doesnt. Most years you get below average. He doesnt recruit. He doesnt bother to prepare for games. He is lazy in assembling a staff.

Just wasted talent, and arrogance that isnt justified by his empty trophy case.

Mullen, like Muschamp, is a good coordinator who got Peter principled into an HC job he doesn't have the skills or temperament for.
He is a below average coordinator too, unless he has a coach override his conservative instincts.

I think Mullen's arrogance is his biggest problem. If he recognized his shortcomings in recruiting and program management, but didn't want to fix them, he could just hire staff to do those parts of the job for him.

This video is the definition of the term "mixed emotions".

Posting because of an unlimited source of schadenfreude for UGA.

Uncle Lou is right, and that was a good analysis. The QB development and system at jawja is awful.
