I do, South Fla connection to recruiting, P5 coach. Whether it would work out in long run who knows, but the instant buzz around program couldn't be denied. We've made the "safe" hire with no more guarantee of success than any hire is. Cristobal would have been a splash, undeniable.
Now that he's in Miami we'll find out the type of splash he makes.

Fwiw it would be ?entendes Ingles?

however I don't think you'll have much luck with call centers in New Delhi. not a lot of Spanish speakers there.

Ask yourself this...Do you know anyone as egotistical and hard headed as Cousin Eddie? He kept Grantham after 2020. He started Franks ahead of Trask. And he started EJ...?
Yeah, Trask bailed out the ignorant QB whisperer.

Almost every coach comes up through lower ranks as a head coach or is a coordinator with no head coach experience. Saban coached Toledo, Meyer Bowling Green, etc.
That's right, Napier and Urbs coaching records almost mirror each other. Utah wasn't in the PAC? when he was there. Comparable teams. I have high hopes with Billy.

I was thinking about this:

UF’s Dan Mullen Loves Taking Shots at Rivals. FSU Became His Latest Victim.

Dan Mullen Trolls Georgia’s National Title Drought

Not everyone knew it. Our athletic department paid him a dump truck full of cash.

meh... I believe you've gotta beat teams consistently enough for anything you say to have any real effect. The thing that made Spurrier and Meyer able to humiliate their opponents was when they talked sh!t, they were able to back it up.

And when I said everyone knew he was a fraud, I meant opposing coaches. Without a superhuman like Tebow taking snaps, Dan's offense has never given any concern to a legit DC. His pathetic record against ranked teams speaks volumes, and it's why his words have never struck fear into anyone.

Never, in his wildest dreams, did Mullen ever tweak one of our rivals. He was a fraud, and everyone knew it.
It might be more precise to say he did but wasn't very good at it. (remember the whole attendance at the spring game thing?) His mistake was Gator fans, after having guys like SOS and Urbs, had seen guys who were really good at it; had Mullen been a little more self-aware, he would have known not to try it.

Mullen's attempts only served to humiliate himself. No one else cared.

T this is why I brought up his time at Alabama and not CSU. The offense at CSU was dynamic, but also not on the talent level that he should be getting at UF.
But butters didn't even bring his Alabama offense here. He brought Doug nussmeiers Michigan offense if you wanna call that offense. Obviously I could be wrong but he just doesn't strike me as a guy that's just married to one thing and is gonna stick that with no matter what.

After digging around and hearing the press conference I'm pretty excited about it. I've been as skeptical of the administration as you but this first time I've really felt optimistic about the future since Meyer .

Nuss replaced Mac at Alabama... they ran the same offense at Alabama... Napier worked under McElwain and then later under Nuss at Alabama. I think you are too focused on the last stop and not the history.

maybe you are too focused on who he worked for than what he accomplished when they all worked for him. A four year run at Louisiana is not all defining yet the result exceeded expectations at that stop. Let's give him a chance before we dig his grave.

Joe, so four years in a run orient offense as a head coach, erases a history of working with run oriented coordinators and offenses, as opposed to one year with a pass happy offense. What is your point exactly?

Geebus, the obsession with passing stats continues. Some of you guys need to go into passing stats detox center.

The better question Douglas is what is yours? He has worked for those who hired him, as a soldier. Like all of us we learn "what to do" and some of us learn "what not to do" thru our apprenticeship. He like to establish the run. He desires to own the LOS, both of them. When he can smash it down the other teams throat he does it. He also throws forward passes down the friqquin field. Spurrier wasn't "pass happy" his offense had balance. So does our new and current Coach. He's going to recruit like crazy and coach boys into men. Florida football is moving in the right direction.

Ox I usually respect you, well sometimes respect your opinion... but you are obviously too vested to see this objectively.
I don't recall you showing me a single measure of respect in all the years I've been around you. You're generally a coarse jerk to everyone, not just me.

I GET that he may not focus on throwing 300 yards a game. AT THIS POINT, this is such a retarded thing to focus on with all the other problems. He is rebuilding and rescuing this program, and some of you still trash him at every turn because it doesn't appear we're going to be Texas Tech on one side of the ball.

Perhaps we should wait until he coaches at least one game before we start picking apart his offense.
