Was that part of your original series of questions, or are you just spitballin?
He has more experience as a HC and a ton more as an asst.....christ Meyer worked under Earl Bruce....that should tell you how much more experience he had.

You're attempting to argue with a guy that hasn't read or watched a single thing about Billy Napier. He literally knows nothing about him except his name and where he coached.

Try reading the dozens of articles that have been written about the guy recently.

So trust everything that's written? Well since most writers know less than my left testicle about CFB and were pissing in their diapers while some of us were actually watching CFB 20 years ago I'll wait for the first signs of life....

Good God. Listen to interviews of the many assistants that have worked with him, etc. It's all over the place.

So besides the obvious here we know that the average life span of a CFB HC coach is less than 3 years in the SEC and other top schools over the last 6 years. We also know that it typically takes 2 to 3 seasons to recruit and develop a functioning offensive line when beginning in the position we are currently in. What recruiting successes does BN have with offensive linemen? I know he has recruited several top level skill position players of note however as we have seen from the last 3 coaches those guys do little without offensive linemen to block. Does he have the time to build it back up? Does he know how to recruit top OL in a conference rich with them?

Mack Brown gave WM rave reviews.....listen I work with someone who's bother coaches in the SEC the past 3 years and coaches don't burn bridges or push each other in front of buses....just doesn't happen in the profession.

The bottom line as far as I see it is that no matter whether you love the hire or hate it, it is another "wait and see" hire not unlike the previous 3. Perhaps the result will be different this time but that's where we are.

After giving me an Uncle Buck meme? Why don’t you get serious?

You think Myer was a better choice than Napier because he was under the tutelage of Earl Bruce, and I contend, using that same logic, Napier is better because I think Saban is better than Bruce.

I remember a time when the Gator Faithful were questioning Myer and his “spread offense” because we struggled to put teams away. And, I will add, had the appearance of someone stubbornly sticking to his “process” because it worked at fuchsing Bowling Green and Utah. Only until he put a fuchsing full back in the backfield against UGA did we think, maybe this guy gets it.

I think Napier gets it. No proof, other than he has a plan that has worked for him, and he carries himself with the confidence that his way works, just like Myer, and Spurrier for that matter.

I don't even know where to begin with this.....ok I think you are mistaking my reference to Meyer working for Bruce as somehow bringing him into the discussion of whether he should be coach instead of BN?
I used the Earl Bruce reference to show how long Meyer had been coaching BEFORE he was hired here....not at all a comparison between which one is here now....my apologies for your confusion.

Napier has already earned his $51.8 million contract by dragging this administration into the 21st century. The hire is already a success.

Was there a public confession from the administration or something along that line? I didn't see anything in the news?

I’m a fan of the hire but I don’t have a freaking clue how it will translate to wins and losses. What I do know is that UF has somehow managed several 10 win seasons recently with some of the worst coaching staffs ever, made even worse by receiving no support from the administration.

Napier is going to be working the trail harder and is going to have more support and help around him than any coach in UF history. His attention to every detail of the program is impressive. I have to think that’s going to translate to some sustained success.
