This....when I played spearing was legal(or at least not called very often :lol2:) and my preferred method of tackling...thence the screen name that stuck with me since 6th grade.

We were taught to tackle with our heads instead of the shoulder. Actually had a practice drill where the D player would ring up the O player right between the numbers.

You obviously didn't listen to all of what the coaches told you. Yes, between the numbers. But all coaches from pee wee up to High school teach kids to "SEE" what they are hitting. Facemask between the numbers... You're welcome.

last time I checked the facemask was attached to the helmet which where I played is secured to the head. Do you have a point?

Most you are full of sh*t . Where did he comit his lower body to a slide. He did a fake with his shoulders. If he was behind the LOS he could have faked a pass to get the rushers into the air. No harm no foul.
