Here’s some Xmas cookie’s
Now that looks goodYum - I’m trying to get the kids to make some this week. Good job on posting the photo but @NVGator will be upset with you since it’s not dinner food.
Here’s my photo of dinner beignets that the kids made.
Shouldn’t you be hard boiling some eggs right now?@Gator By Marriage @CDGator where are the pictures? I thought we established rules? Can’t even make it a day before this falls apart.

Did the whole mix the sauce w/ the pasta thing. We all really liked it, me more than wife and MIL. They thought is made it a little more dry/gluey. Maybe I made too much pasta to sauce ratio.
Anyway I could tell a huge difference.
Did I just add too much paste for the sauce ratio? The dry comments are correct. The pasta absorbs some of the sauce, so it’s not as wet. Still there just not superficially. It really does marry the flavors and changes the character of the pasta. Looks good. Glad you liked it.
Pictures or it didn’t happen. On another note, just to kind of humanize this thread a little, I made some burgers Saturday night. They sucked. The end.

Probably the best course would be simply not inviting the MIL anymore.
Professional grade grill marks.Grilled pork chop, pumpkin & hatch chili soup, and salad. Soup was way too spicy for the wife. It did have some heat.
Breakfast if its alright with yall.
My dad's parents lived in a big house south of Lakeland, Fla. It was an old mining house I was told. Now gone to progress. On the edge of a swamp but with a wonderful citrus grove between the house and swamp. The soil reminded me of that dirt around Lawtey so black and rich you could grow anything in it. They had mostly pink grapefruit (the finest I ever had) and different types of oranges and tangerines. Grandma had this big kitchen on the end of the house.I am a morning person but could never get up before her. She always asked what I wanted for breakfast and I always replied "pancakes". She used all purpose flour, baking powder, eggs and milk. Scratch if you will. And would cook me bacon with it. If I could go back in time I believe this is where I would go once more. From her and my Syrian room mate from college I learned to cook. By observing both I came to realize that measuring just slows you down. Today Kevin asked for pancakes. He must have inherited that proclivity from me. So with all purpose flour, baking powder, eggs from my buddy John's chickens and home made vanilla from Carol Powell I made him some. They finally turned out perfect. I had to try them so with some home made cane syrup (thanks to my buddy John Durrance again). I had grandma's (she was born in the 19th century) pancakes in the 21st century. Memories race through my head this time of year like our little race cars did around the track in 1965. Merry Christmas.....................
