The next Gator Nation football event is the Orange & Blue game and the count down is on. That debacle last night should be burned into the soul of the new coaching staff and know we demand retrubution and they better be ready to deliver it. That's the truth take for what its worth. They better damn well deliver it, in spades.

Very good summary of a very disappointing game. Good point about the difference in the defense after Hopper got tossed. I watched a replay several times and I could not see a punch. Looked like a push. With targeting there is always a review before an ejection. On this ejection or any other, why could there not be a review? Or at least the refs come together and figure out if anyone else saw anything.
The BS call pretty well summed up our season. Just like my DVR of the game this morning. Just hit delete, and move on.

EJ's slow-throw & tunnel-vision gives too much advantage to opposing defenses. He bogs down all offensive execution = we have molasses execution that gets pancaked every time.
Not to mention EJ's play-ruining habit of clinging to the handoff such that RBs can't make use of their first 1-2 steps since they can only fight their QB in preventing a handoff fumble.??

This game was what we should have expected, but hoped not to see. EJ probably deserved to start but as we saw was his poor self. Then we should have installed a totally running offense with more linemen and a powerful running QB, perhaps a running back. As usual no creativity or adjustments.

Now the kickoff was mostly bad luck combined with not having a decent kicker, some of our issues involved that. Kick so deep it won't be returned, do it every time.

Hopefully our new coach actually intends to have a good passing attack like say Bama has and not the running only type of the past.

Good article @GatorTruth133 ! My greatest impression was that the two guys who declared as transfers via the portal, EJ and Copeland, had no business playing in the game, regardless of whether they were good guys or not. Thank them for their time as Gators, send them the bowl parting gifts if you like, and wish them well. At least two other players could have gotten some PT, maybe valuable.

Otherwise, the bowl’s outcome didn’t shock me, unfortunately. The two brightest takeaways, as have been mentioned, is that from this moment forward, Napier has the reins and can continue his dual task of installing his program and rebuilding what is left of the Mullen “era” (though at this point, “error” might fit better). The second is that Mullen is in the rear view mirror. I hope that this will be a trend for UF in the new year and will be a part a national trend as well.
