The contenders in chronological order:

Emory Jones
Malik Zaire
Austin Appleby
Luke Del Rio
Treon Harris
Skyler Mornhinweg
John Brantley

Emory is number 1 I would say. He is like a poor man's Treon Harris. Also his career suckiness value is very high because he started almost the entire season. He has a high peaks suckiness and a long sucky prime. Brantley has a longer sucky prime of 2 seasons, but he played for a coach that makes QBs look very bad so that has to be in consideration and he was better than Emory imo.

Skyler Mornhinweg is probably the worst in terms of skill, but he only started 1 game (granted it was GSU) and he finished with 2 TDs and 0 INTs (3 TDs and 0 INTs in his career). His overall career suckiness value is low. Also he didn't cock block AR15 from starting. He only started as a result of a terrible trash of injuries.

MorningWood - bench warmer at Columbia
Treon - made to switch positions at Tenn St
Zaire - no time to learn the offense before starting the season
Emory - he was Mullenized
Brantley - square peg in a round hole - Urban screwed him
Appleby - white version of Emory, never should have been a power 5 QB

I may take some crap for this but Luke Del Rio was not that bad. When healthy, I had faith that he could complete a pass down the field. I cannot say the same thing for the others on this list.

We only started left tackles. There’s a bunch that entered in relief.

First of all, who is the nun that beat you out for first place?

I don’t know, but Franks and Driskel should be in the conversation. With Franks, the occasional heroics might overshadow the soul sucking play by play hell of misguided hope in our memories. But he wins easily in the sheer amount of frustration experienced watching him.

Driskel and every name on that list besides Emory never had a remotely functional offensive line. Every play those guys were like a fink in prison riot. So maybe it’s between Emory and the Giraffe for doing less with more.

Tough decisions here, but man Treon was bad. Emory is bad to, but at least made a few plays. Driskell and Brantley were stuck in the wrong systems before it was to late. Applebee’s was just a body that never expected to play, but has the record for longest TD pass.

I don’t consider Morningwood or Harris because they legit did not have the physical ability to play in the SEC. That isn’t their fault. My vote goes toward the guys genuinely recruited to start. So, my vote goes to Emory. Forget just the Gators, he is the worst QB I have seen in many years. And, my goodness his mechanics are a dumpster fire.

They were all Gators and proud to be. To me, the better question might be...who was the biggest disappointment?

I have in the past pointed out that every UF QB since Terry Dean who basically started an entire year was drafted with one notable exception. This includes several transfers and even transfer who did not start an entire year.

So I take being drafted as a signal that a player had the basic tools to be a QB at UF. Jones probably has those basic tools and heck maybe even is drafted late some year. So even if he were the top of your list, I would not compare him to bit starters. I would compare him with other guys who started at UF an entire year or more.

Had to be Franks. Mac missed a critical meeting with Grier over that clown.

Treon couldn't carry Emory Jones jock strap

My first reaction was to like this post, but the problem is that Harris regressed terribly. He was not so bad against LSU and his other early starts. It was either opponents figured him out or McElwain coached him down and since it happened to multiple QBs in the McElwain error I lean towards that. Jones started out terrible and stayed terrible, but you are right that Jones has far more QB tools than T. Harris ever did.

As bad as EJ5 was last night and the entire year was bad, but worse than Skyler Mornhinweg? Nope. I think ol' Skyler has that title over the past decade hands down. But Jones did give him a run for his money.

At first, I thought you meant "era", but then I realized you were probably correct.

Think of all the QB's we should have played... that left us in the past 11 years.
They're like potential girlfriends who got away and married someone else.

1.) Jacoby Brisset
2.) Will Grier
3.) Trask riding the pine behind Franks.
4.) AR-15 riding the pine behind a terrible EJ.

Pick the right QB and maybe things turn out differently for our disgraced 3M coaches.
(Muskchump, MacElstain, and Mullet.).

Football is a fickle mistress.
