What’s your favorite doughnut and where does it come from?

Duck Donuts in Pittsburgh is pretty amazing. If we’re talking chains, I confess to having a weakness for DD’s blueberry cake.

Krispy Kreme blueberry cake are what we get when we need a doughnut. We don’t go often due to a lack of self-control when we go.

Up north, Dunkin Donuts was the best.

In the South, its Krispy Kreme by a mile.

But I need to know what kind of doughnut so I can update your favorites in my user profile spreadsheet.

And it PISSES ME THE FUK OFF in the fall when they stop it for the pumpkin spice cake version!

In Tampa, there is a hole in the wall Puerto Rican sandwich shop/bakery called La Creación Bakery. I would drive 1000 miles to get ONE of their cream cheese filled donuts. It doesn't taste like it sounds, it's magical, and I'd trade two of my kids for one. They bake in the morning, when they're gone, they're gone for the day. Their Cuban sandwiches are pretty awesome too.

I'll have to try that place on my next trip down!

Dunkin' Donuts peanut donut was my pre-KK blueberry cake favorite for dunking in milk... Then they caved to the peanut allergy fanatics and discontinued it. From that day forward, DD was dead to me... unless @bradgator2 is buying. ;)

Used to love the Blueberry and when they had them the strawberry cake at DD, but a few years ago they got cheap on the glaze and they aren’t the same.

We have a Duck Donuts here in Jax and that’s our go to here by a mile. In Orlando we liked Donut King.

I don’t generally eat doughnuts. But I think a basic Publix glazed is being severely overlooked in this thread.

There’s also something almost strangely enjoyable about the first bite into one of those Sweet 16 powdered ones, where between the dryness of the cake and the powdered outside you almost can’t breathe for a moment.

A place where I live is all potato doughnuts and has even started a food truck to serve elsewhere. Anyone know the commie that came up with this bright idea?

Krispy Kreme hot is the best chain doughnut hands down.

Close by these parts, Hole Doughnuts in Asheville is incredible, I lean toward the Toasted Almond Sesame Cinnamon when I go, which has been over a year now....the video will give you an idea how they do things.

I agree with everything that has been said so far. One thing is for certain: it has to be extremely fresh.

Usually, almost any local donut shop will blow DD out of the water. When I lived in Philly, there is an absolutely incredible farmers market called Reading Terminal Market. Inside there, there is Amish Donut shop that makes them fresh. THAT place produced the the best donuts I have ever had.

Some pic off the internet of that place:

Oh.... and I highly recommend putting "Amish Donut" into urban dictionary
