No chance. He's got family in the NFL. Going to get paid.

Then again, maybe with the new NIL rules, players come back more often since they can still get some $$$ and stay in school, maybe improve their draft position.

So there’s NO chance, but you’re saying there’s a chance…

If Elam stays, it’s because he thinks he can become a top 15 pick. He may slip into the 2nd this year

This is actually one potential positive to the NIL thing I hadn’t considered.

One thing I haven’t considered for Elam and the others considering the NFL, who is the one talking to their NFL connections and giving these guys their assessment? Usually that is the HC. I know, DM has no connections, terrible assessments, he sucks, etc.

Is that something BN steps in and fills? Great press conference question.

No idea what the 2023 class would look like, except Eli Ricks will start off with a lot of talk.

Elam should have connections through his family.

Who’s in the league? Abe and Matt are out of the league. Certainly has contacts though.

You probably know better than I do, but I’m not so sure he couldn’t be one of those guys that improves with better coaching and maybe some assignment changes. He’s not alone. I honestly can’t think of one defensive player that actually improved over the last four years. Maybe Carter. The rest looked identical from year to year, or worse. Even Elam’s best film seems like it was from 2019. So I don’t know if it’s as much plateauing as it is just still living off instincts, talent and technique they came in with.

100% agree with the bad angles and tunnel vision. Poor tackling as well but that can be coached up with better drills, teaching better techniques of finding the spot to get to rather than just looking at the shoulder pads.

I agree to both you and SoFla.

The scheme and actual position coaches sucked so much last year. Every player will look better next year no doubt in my mind. Especially the DBs. Dean might get passed on the depth chart. But maybe he can still be a solid contributor on a really good defense. I think the defense could end up being top 25.
