I probably don’t need to point this out, but it’s fairly embarrassing to be a fan of an NFL franchise whose happiest recent moments occurred before advent of cell phones.

Don't know who want's him, and doubt anybody does, but I heard weeks ago that specifically Chicago did. In what capacity, I don't know but it was floated that it was as the head coach.
Good God what a disaster that would be.

And throughout all of those years the players have become millionaires and the owner more of a billionaire.

How long before you figure out that you are being played?

I came to that conclusion 50 years ago.

It was also postulated that after UF lost to Bama, that Mullen basically said, "welp, this season is over" and essentially sabotaged the season to enable a buyout of his contract.

Again, all hearsay so take it with a grain of salt.

Add the Broncos to the list.

Broncos get rid of Elway
Broncos trade Von Miller
Newly named stadium (Empower Field at Mile High Stadium)
Fire Fangio
Bowlen family fighting over control
Now Broncos franchise for sale

with all that...
I expect Super Bowl or AFC championship game next season... book it.

Dolphins firing Coach Flores was a shocker, after his big turnaround.

Then again, winning seven games in a row to go above .500 at 8-7 would not have been such a big deal if we had not lost seven games in a row to get in that hole in the first place. A number of those losses were close games with a lot of questionable decisions and playcalling.

If Dolphins had beaten Tennessee last week, we would've been in the playoffs and Coach Flo would be an NFL Coach of the Year candidate. Instead we lost in embarrassing fashion to a team led by former Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill, the first player Flores got rid of when he got the job in 2019.

I figured owner Stephen Ross must've made a handshake deal with somebody, otherwise he doesn't make this move, but he denies that it's Harbaugh. So, who? :scratchhead:

The Football Gods are not done punishing the Dolphins for having the audacious hubris to fire THE WINNINGEST.

After Stephen Ross claimed he won't hire Harbaugh, some of my Dolphin buddies on a group text worked up the following re-enactment of a scene from Scarface.

It features Ross as Tony Montana, the Michigan fanbase as Frank Lopez and Miami Dolphins Special Adviser to the President Dan Marino as Manolo Ribera.

Stephen Ross: "I'm not going to be the person to hire Jim Harbaugh from the University of Michigan."

Meatchickens: "Oh Christ, thank you! Thank you, Stephen!"

Ross: (Pause) "MARINO! Hire that pizza chip!"

Dan Marino: (Aggressively emerges from background with contract and pen)

Meathchickens: "No..NO...NOOOOOOO!!!!"

Aaannnnnd....scene. :exactly:

He's apparently the only person on the face of the earth that doesn't realize Balke needs to go.

Khan is just not a football guy. So much so that he can’t even hire a football guy to run things.

That was pretty obvious, and many people figured he just didn't care.

I really wouldn't care if Mullen went to the NFL and was wildly successful. I'm just happy we don't have to put up with his sorry ass anymore.

I can’t see his ego allowing him to be an assistant.

Well as a dolphin fan I knew this crap would go on. The owner of my favorite team is a puny NY real estate loudmouth. I miss the days of Joe Robbie - the Dolphins were his life. The only mistake Flores made was taking the job with this loser franchise.
