This really isn’t a draft to trade down as there no clear #1 and certainly no #1 QB.
All drafts are candidates to trade down when you have multiple needs, especially if you can hook up a veteran starter and a top ten pick to fill another need.

The only possibility of a trade down is to find someone at 7 or 8 or maybe even lower who needs something at 6 or higher. But then who among that group has a collection of valuable picks available as compensation. I have no idea if any team fits that mold. Problem is the jags would almost certainly lose value. But if you need the picks what difference does a value trade make...up to a point. What matters is that you fill some holes. You can argue either way. Picks pan out half the time. Or you can get your super human edge rusher and if it turns out to be super human, trade for picks next year. There all sorts of ways to wiggle, but I don't know how many ways to wiggle there are.

Edit: Just saw Joe's post. More to the point. He's smarter than I am.

The problem is no one wants to offer much when there isn’t a franchise type QB near the top. You aren’t mortgaging your future for a LT or DL.

Well let's watch it play out. I have faith that Jax will fuch it up regardless of what they do.

They have to go after Leftwich. His offense is clicking, he’s loved by the fan base, and it would just be awesome

If we stick with Baalke and hire O’Brien, I’m out. It’ll be time for me to move on and pick a different winner.

Honestly though, I was cool on Leftwich, but reports of O’Brien has me begging we go with Leftwich.

That said, my number 1 pick is honestly Jim Caldwell (1a is Kellen Moore).

Brian Flores and he won't even get a sniff.

"Just find us a head coach with more class than Meyer.
You know, one that's smart enough to say NO to a crotch dance!"

Wait wait wait....Liar got fired in disgrace from Jax before completing his first year? And he didn't have 9 wins under his belt when it happened?

How did we miss this news and discussion on this forum?? Its a mystery!

@BruceFeldmanCFB: SOURCE: Louisiana DL coach/assistant head coach Rory Segrest is expected to join the Jaguars coaching staff. He and Doug Pederson had coached together with the Eagles.

I think Flores would be a great fit. It’s rumored he wanted Justin Herbert over Tua. He’d have Lawrence and could build a good team. He’s already shown he can coach. He’d be my first choice.
Your first choice for your NFL coach is a guy who's currently embroiled in a bitter lawsuit against the NFL?

Putting the lawsuit aside, as a Dolphin fan who observed Flores for the past three years, trust me, you don't want him. He came out of New England fully convinced that his sh*t didn't stink, and could not take advice or form a good working relationship with anyone.

Note the date I wrote that. Don’t feel that way now but it’s my understanding he didn’t want Tua and that rubbed the owner the wrong way. Lawrence would have been good for him.
