So you're saying it's basically wishbone then. Worse than Mullens sideways offense. So top receiver about 400-600 yards. That's just great. :headslap:

I am not saying Napier's offense is more run first than the wishbone. It is a run first and as such hopes to pass when the safeties come up rather than beating teams in the passing game. To your question, under Napier the UL-La top WR by yards:

2021: 481 yards
2020: 364 yards
2019: 906 yards
2018: 608 yards

and when he was the OC at Clemson:

2009: 626
2010: 779

So you are right for 3 out 4 years he was at UL and in full control of the program. Make of that what you want.

Napier already discussed this. It's the same offense the 1956 Chicago Cardinals used, and that team was a powerhouse. It's a proven model. Hall of Famer Ollie Matson averaged nearly 5 yards a carry that year.

By the way, when we won the NC in 2008, our leading receiver was Louis Murphy with 655 yards. There are other ways to win football games than 1,000 yard receivers.

You left out his year at ASU when his leading receiver has 1142 yards

Are you asking about the TE that could never find the field at Bama except on special teams? Rumor has it he and little Nicky didn't get along so well. Who knows why?:dunno:

You are right, I did not realize he was OC at ASU. I put a little less emphasis on Clemson data as it was so long ago. I put a little less emphasis on data from when he was OC as he did not really have complete control.

Still the history is only indicative. What matters to us is what type of offense he runs at UF. We will know that soon enough.

I would accept "3-yards and a cloud of dust" as long as we win against the big boys currently dominating us. If Napier's "Scared Money Don't Make Money," gambling style goes for it on 4th down a lot... 3 yards x 4 downs = 12 yards and moves the sticks. Just Win Baby!

LSU kicked our asses more than a few times using this strategy.

This guy is OV on 28 Jan and things seem to be looking good with him. We will be his last OV; he cancelled his visit to OU. He is committed to Auburn but because the DL coach left he is 'going to look into things deeper.' Toney and Napier have been in his ear a lot.
