If his biggest speaking sin is ending sentences with ,"right", its a 1000 fold improvement over our past coaches. So far I like everything about the guy

I mentioned this about him in his previous pressers. It’s probably the only negative I can find about him up to this point. It’s annoying as schit. I used to work with someone who did the same thing. Ending you point looking for affirmation speaks of lack of intellect. I’m not saying CBN isn’t smart, because he obviously is and approaching this job the right way, but he has built a habit of saying, “right?” That needs to be broken.

That's total BS. Talking about crap you know nothing about speaks to a lack of intellect. It's usually a nervous verbal tic that's a learned behavior. And if anything, seeking affirmation in such a way speaks to either a lack of confidence in himself or who he is talking to.

I’ve noticed this on many speakers. Rarely are they seeking actual affirmation. It’s usually a bad habit from an earlier time when they were more uncomfortable speaking publicly. Others say uhh or um frequently. As someone else pointed out it is also seen in coaches who are seeking acknowledgment rather than affirmation.

Saban says "aight" so much that it's been mocked on SEC Nation. I don't see any reason to sound the alarms. At least BN is resorting to proper English.

Saying "right" at the end of his sentence is his way of making sure people who aren't as smart as him understand what he's saying. He's a coach; he deals with this constantly. When he does pressers he's surrounded by sports reporters, right? I think everyone who's ever had the pleasure of hearing Edgar talk/ask a question knows where I'm going with this, right?
I wish I could have given this a like and a funny..

Regarding the "right?" thing....In sales you are taught to always lead by asking......"It's a lovely 3/2 ranch style, right?...."And the school district is A rated, right?" 'You were looking for a lovely 3/2 ranch style house in a A rated school district, right? Tells me he might be a good closer for recruiting and hiring a better staff.

In coaching/managing especially young people affirming that they get what you're saying is key with both eye contact and verbal affirmation as their young minds like to wander....

In this scenario he was simply "leading" the direction of the press conference in a clear direction and avoiding annoying follow up questions in a clear direct yet professional manner.....plus he was still selling himself to any fans and press.

"Right?" has become the new "You know?" after every sentence. There's no denying it.
