Well, I guess they are due aren't they? I mean first there's Archy, Then Peyton, Then Eli, all were uber successful so eventually the apple has to fall too far from the tree, right?

Uber successful? Their college careers were only moderately successful. We are talking about college right?

We're certainly not in position to turn our nose up, but there's something about a Manning in orange and blue that doesn't seem right.

Yeah, I thought I was the only one that felt that way. I’d prefer to look elsewhere for a QB with a normal size forehead.

I expect Manning to go with a pro style offense with a solid O-line and a plethora of talented WRs. Who would that be?
Surely the family doesn't need money and knows the big bucks are in the NFL.

Right now I’m concerned about our wr room, however, that could potentially be the easiest position to fix in the portal

Right there with you, I hate all things Manning. HOWEVER.. the thought of winning the SEC and even a National Championship with a Manning at QB just to rub it in the faces of Vols fans is worth at least half a consideration.

Our wr room is full of 4 star guys with size and just about all of em had really good hs careers. I think qb play was the biggest hold up there. No receiver in the country would have atood out last year. The only thing our wr room lacks is a shifty slot guy. We don't really have that. All and all we're pretty talented there, just need a trigger man.

Spurrier recruited forehead... I'll bet we would have won two Natty's had he chosen us over UT. That said, while I do find him funny, and he was clearly a great QB, I can't stand him.

It could actually be fun seeing him dressed in O&B… knowing it would probably piss off the rest of the family, especially Mr. O-for-Florida.

I think our chances with Manning can be summed up as slim and none. But I credit for CBN for trying anyway. Much like the impact Tebow had on recruiting and future success, Manning would do the same or more. Manning is a whale and CBN has nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Interesting quotes from Napier about recruiting the transition class and going forward with the 23 class.

About only signing 6 players from Florida in the 2022 class:

“I think it's a product of the circumstance...I think we basically just had to go evaluate the players that were available. And we looked all over the country. I think we're pretty spread out in this class. So I think that's a product of the circumstances. Those are the players that we felt like fit us from an evaluation standpoint. And then we had the resources to go get that accomplished. I think that's the one thing to remind ourselves of is that Florida brand is strong. And it's spread out and it was able to do good work.”

About 2023 and on:

“Our approach is going to be inside/out, there's no question, I think history would indicate that when Florida has a really good football team, it starts right here in our backyard and works out. That's the approach that we will take and certainly with the '23 group, which we've already started on. That will be the mentality for sure.”

Glad you posted that, I remember him saying all of that in the presser. He explained their approach and it made sense...i.e....it didn't sound like total bs. All the bleating after NSD is what didn't make sense. They, obviously, would love to have landed the biggest prizes but at least the effort was there.
Time will tell about the next cycle, but I'm hopeful.

I havent watched any of Archie's film. Even if I did I wouldn't know what to look at. That being said, I think his ratings are heavily weighted with his name. I dont want him. I can't back it up with facts, but the guys a bum.
