Yes, only a complete toolbag would ever have a blowup with Derek Mason.

Auburn is so desperate to compete with Bama they'd sell their souls to the devil if they thought it would work.

They tried but the devil reminded them that they already sold their souls to him during the Cam fiasco and then doubled down when they extended Bruce Pearl.
Their only regret is that they only have one soul.

The sell your soul thing is almost literally true. When we were stationed in Montgomery church was the biggest community event. You could not drive more than a mile without coming across a very large Southern Baptist congregation. The Sunday after the Auburn-Alabama game, church attendance was about 50% of normal. The losers just couldn't bear the comments from the winners. A week later things were back to normal.

Auburn’s message to Bryan Harsin is clear, it’s over - al.com

It’s over for Bryan Harsin at Auburn.

Auburn made it clear this week that Harsin can no longer effectively coach football at the university, and that’s for the best since Harsin has made it clear over the last couple months that he doesn’t know how to coach in this new version of the SEC.

Harsin returns from vacation today, and while he was away the university, working outside of the athletics department, launched an investigation of the football team to figure out how Harsin could lose so much support from within. It was a stunning rebuke of a second-year football coach like the SEC has rarely seen. Harsin was hired little more than a year ago to replace fired coach Gus Malzahn, but now the university has turned on him.

@TannerStewartTV: I’m being told @AuburnFootball is actively in the process of firing HC Bryan Harsin

I have heard things like, Harsin was trying to run the program as it should be without the involvement from folks behind the scenes that have been problematic for many years. Supposedly he wanted to get rid of the players who don't have the best characters and bring in players with much better characters. If true, this would hurt the feelings of some deep pocket people who have some sway over how things are handled. It makes sense to me that it could be true but who knows if it is or not.

That's not the type of behavior that runs off assistants or typically gets coaches fired. There may be some truth to that, but there's definitely more going on.

Do you believe they are still paying Bowden and Tuberville? That's just crazy to think. And we think we have problems....
