With the other stiffs we were looking for things to be happy about but it always felt a little dicey. This is completely different, I mean night and day. If you can't see the difference then either you we'rent around then, or you're blind now.

Ok, so here’s the deal…and why I’m excited for the foreseeable future:
If AR-15 shoots blanks we know it’s the player, not the QB coach. Not the system. Not the underwhelming teaching staff. Not the O-line.
If I’m a betting man, and I’ve been know to wager a time or two, AR will develop into his true potential with this staff.

The RB’s & TE’s will be his outlets but, he has shown a glimpse of hitting those WR crosses, outs, flags & posts with regularity. Consider again his wheels and, this guy has the Potential to be very special.
Ecstatic now that the “QB whisperer” is gone so we see what AR really has.
This, coupled with the true Buzz of recruiting elite talent, equates to a very special beginning of an era not seen in quite a while. I’m pumping like neteng but I firmly believe we’re finally in the right hands.
Hold on for the ride…it’s gonna be fun.
Can’t wait for @cover2 dissection forthcoming

I share your optimism and nothing Napier has done so far makes me think of sloth and mediocrity.

I’d also love to see AR develop and perform to potential. First thing with a dual threat guy is that he’s got to stay healthy. The old rule for those guys was if there’s no one in between you and the receiver, run it. Doubt it’s quite like that now, but the point is to stay in the pocket and/or extend the play behind the line, giving receivers time to find a hole. Big runs are awesome, but too many and the hits mount up quickly. Not good for a guy that has been kinda brittle. Thoroughbreds are often easily injured sometimes. Let the backs run over guys; let him slip out of bounds.

AR’s definitely got the arm and can hit the deep routes, he’ll make his money if he can adequately read progression and find the intermediates. Still, I hope we have a legit guy behind him. Emory was a good kid that was well-liked among his peers, but he was very average as a backup to Trask imo with the exception of the change of pace runs. He was not SEC caliber as a starter. We need not have a similar situation and I’d be surprised if we did given the early attention to detail.

I think the excitement thus far is twofold. On one hand, as mentioned, Napier looks to be building a program on a blueprint similar to Saban and the other contenders. Long overdue. On the other hand, we are excited to not have Mullen ball where Dan told us in so many words that he was smarter than everyone else and we just didn’t appreciate it, but we’re still not sure exactly how our roster’s going to stack up in the early stages. I’ll take that compared to last year’s shti show. I feel like I’m coming off the stomach flu and some good Mexican food is on the way. Can my stomach take it? Hell yeah it can.

If AR was a redshirt Senior, the excitement would still be there for a new regime. He’s yet a babe. The exciting part, for me at least, is watching the maturation of a program…sprinklered with moments of brilliance, exuberance, and fun.
I see the Potential of AR but, moreover, I see the brightness ahead for the Program. And it makes me smile.

We’d have probably been a helluva track team. Betting we had a bunch of gas left in the tank at the season’s end. Damn sure didn’t expend it in the power part of the game. Feeling like everybody trained like the offensive skills. Savage was an upgrade to Izzy Mandelbaum, which was initially exciting, but we lacked power where we most needed it…OL, LB, and DL with a couple of exceptions. Some of it had to do with the players themselves, but the S&C program should help more than it appeared to. FWIW Pierce loved Savage and was in pretty damn good shape, but came to UF with a great lower body.

This is interesting to me.
One might assume a guy like Carter would excel at explosive power. Yet, not so much.
And we continually see the vertical jump from various athletes at a plus range…which is an indicator of explosiveness.
The shuttle…again, explosiveness or quickness?
Would like to hear more from you on a breakdown of what you meant

I appreciate the insights.

I gather the current emphasis is on explosiveness across many repetitions. I’m sure you’ve posted on this somewhere but do you like the new S&C staff’s approach?
