Bush - you wrote -
Green is a classic case of a too short, too slow, below average shooting PG

Then did this research proving you were wrong:

I went to ESPN, pulled the top 100 players stat wise for this year, stripped out all the players except guards, which left 65 players, and averaged the FG%, 3 pt %, and FT%.

Their average is

45.112 / 34.409 / 79.513

Greene CAREER average is

40.1 / 38.97 / 85.7

Of those 65 guards, 61 shot better from the floor than Greene.

Of those 65 guards, 14 shot better from 3 pt range than Greene.

Of those 65 guards, 17 shot better from free throw line than Greene.

Your stats absolutely show he was an above average shooter and perhaps much better figuring there 100’s of NCAA guards and he’d be towards the top 10% in 3 pt shooting and FT shooting in the nation. Before you try to discount non -power 5 players, realize you included many in your chart.

Taurean’s poor overall fg% compared to his 3pt % does not show he was a below average shooter. It reiterates he was undersized and not overly fast, so he was a below average slasher/driver.

I'm going to go ahead and interrupt all this bickering over a mediocre collegiate guard to remind you that we hired an effeminate coach from San Fransisco. And that he hired an effeminate strength and conditioning coach - also from San Fransisco - who uses broadway and ballet dance routines to enhance his strength and conditioning program. The fact that no one is concerned about this is both troubling and an indication as to how numb we've all become to this PC wokeness:

Lee Humphrey is a below average shooter. That’s why he never made an NBA roster, obviously.
Dude shot 0% on 0 shots in the NBA! Smh

who uses broadway and ballet dance routines to enhance his strength and conditioning program.

Well, that relates to maintaining balance out of a spin, leaping agility, and enhanced hand-strength for catching & holding.
At UF in 1965, in the gym, I saw some huge football players that some coach assigned to modern dance classes and ballet classes.

I really hope this is one of your stories.
Negative. Here's actual footage of one of his strength and conditioning sessions. He's a hardass, and as you can see, he get's right in their face, but his "queer eye" unconventional approach is going to cause problems, even fights, like what's seen here:

I had no idea Green got 11 shots in the NBA. That's 11 more than I thought.
@Sec14Gator liked this post, but he would've downvoted it if @Bushmaster had posted it. What a shameless kiss-ass.

:scoff:

Not to speak for Bushmaster but I believe the substance of the point that he and I are both making is that WE LIKE THIS HIRE BECAUSE Taurean Green was the least naturally-gifted of the five starters on that team. Despite that, he not only held his own but arguably was the team leader, at least strategically on the floor if not emotionally (that was probably Joakim).

Taurean's game was a product of good coaching and hard work, more so than it was for the others. That suggests that out of the five, he's probably the one most likely to have the makings of a good coach. Does anyone dispute that???

:racist:

Lee Humphrey was the most naturally gifted shooter on the team. He made the most 3-pointers in UF history and in NCAA Tournament history.
Given that he was a career 63% shooter for us from the charity stripe, it looks like his amazing 3 point shooting was the product of hard work.

But you said naturally gifted player, not shooter, which includes athleticism, vision, and intangibles as well. Lee wasn't really the most naturally athletic guy.

Where would Billy be on this list if you eliminated all of the well known cheaters?

Top ten?
Top five?
Billy should have stayed for just one more Ship.
Oh well, bring on the Golden era of Gator Basketball.
Billy was the foundation and the court literally bares his name.
Golden Era has begun. Let us dance.
