Why the f does a business school need money? To buy coffee and donuts? Country Club memberships?

Hugh Hathcock? Sounds like a porn star show name.

Looks like one too.

There's no way that's his real name. I literally read it as "Hath Hugecock"

Annual cost of Bloomberg terminals ain't cheap. Also, you'd probably be stunned at the pedigree of a LOT of the "professors" in the business school. They are academics NOW, but they made their bones (and fortunes) in the private sector and now teach for the fun/mentoring aspect of it, and guys like that don't come cheap. There are a lot of them with base UF pay in the $4-500K/year range. When I was there, they were more "academics." Now, Son #2's main mentor is a "professor" that lives in Vegas where he's setting up deals all over the world and flies to Gainesville for a couple of days per week to teach in person and talk with the kids. His private sector resume is beyond impressive and he ran the Real Estate portfolio for the Sovereign Fund of Abu Dhabi for years (billions of dollars). There... is... a... lot... of money and experience in UF's business school.

the Gator Collective is one of the largest in the country. It’s expected to bring in 25M + per year.
