Coach has said the same thing in a pressers recently about lack of depth across the board and needing to be aggressive in the portal, but he said it in a much nicer way than Shane. We've been complaining about it for the last 8 years across multiple coaching staffs. Our recruiting has sucked, especially in the trenches, for a while and we are coming off a sub .500 season. We got Hev specials blocking, muLLLLLLen receivers who are better at blocking than route running and beyond Dexter, a weak DL. And there have been plenty of practice reports talking about Johnson running people over.

Im not a fan of Shane these days but I dont think he is saying anything very controversial, just seems like he is saying it in a controversial way.

:exactly:

The Gators Breakdown crew have gone over this time and time again. UF's talent level sits right around the bottom of the top 10. Not championship level, but they don't suck. I've actually watched Shane's podcast a time or two. IMO, IT sucks not the Gator football team. They just need to fix the discipline issues and learn the new playbooks of the new staff and should be good, but not great until year 2-3 once coach Napier raises the overall talent level to where it needs to be.

Have listened to GB and you are correct. Not sure where Shane thinks he's coming across with any breaking news. Everyone and even those that are blind know where UF is and has been since the Muschump era. What I do think is we have an upgrade in recruiting and staff. I would love to have seen what a Napier team would have done with the games where Mullentham shyt the bed.

Take Mullens rankings for each class. Subtract the dozen that never had a chance to get in but he took them anyway and then factor in his inability to evaluate talent and Matthew's assessment is spot on.
I could go on and on about the shortcomings of this roster.

I just hope it isn't so bad that real talent can't see themselves playing here.

I think the lack of talent will hopefully be offset, too a degree, by competent coaching

This. The dude rode the muschamp ship to the very end. Said things like he was " snake bit" and had "bad luck".

If I remember correctly, Shane didn’t like Urban or he was critical of his offense. This may be a good sign if Shane is bashing this regime already. Anyone remember what he thought of Butter’s?

Pretty sure he was unable to watch a single game during the McElwain era. Only the one TV in that big rec area.

I’ve heard rumors that he didn’t even know WM was gone until the day of his release when he went straight to his house and found an Indian cardiologist now owned it. Pretty emotional from what I’ve heard.

Its foolish to take away anything from a spring scrimmage with basically a new team and new coaching staff.

Spring game bound to show us some interesting things. Right now, we hold too many mysteries not to have some things cleared up or hopes aroused.
This game should at least show us what kind of legs our RBs have, what kind of quickness our running attack offers. We get to see what level of recovery AR has at this point. This scrimmage should reveal which WRs & TEs have good hands. Won't we see who makes quickest cuts.? Which LBs shoot the gaps or plug the holes. Any guys reliable tacklers.? Which LBs have enough speed.? There is plenty for Gator football fans to applaud. My O & B eyes are ready to see.

Shane's seemingly had an axe to grind with the program for quite awhile now. Not saying he doesn't have valid opinions, but I take what he says with a grain of salt.

Came here to say this. He has been salty since his LDR would save the program take blew up on him. I like the guy, but there are plenty of takes that need the grain of salt.

I had an argument at lunch with Douche Shane when Brantley was here, Shane had a man crush on him. I told Shane no way Brantley was going to succeed. Of course he replied, “you don’t see practice I have & the ball never hit the ground. “ Shane’s answer to everything “ these clowns have never played a sport, what do they know?” Arrogant Douche Felon what prize human he is.

For whatever reason Shane has always had that salty condescending attitude. At times even with UF you could look at him and you'd thought we had lost the game. Always kinda had that Jerk side to him with "resting bytch face" to go with it. Don't get me wrong, loved him as a QB here. But I also attribute much of his success to the OBC. Spurrier took a guy with no snaps at UF prior to his arrival and did well. But after last night, not sure what QB he's been watching at practice. AR15 was clearly better.

Shane said several times on the radio last night, how the team looked much different than what he saw in practice, especially AR. Sounded really surprised to see AR look so good in the game.

I said when he was first hired that I wouldnt be surprised to have a 6-6 or 7-5 type year. Saban went 6-6 and lost at home to La Monroe in year 1. Then went undefeated and played us tough in the SEC champ game in year 2.

Nape's a builder. Be patient.
