I'm probably not feeling as positive as some of you guys. AR is really, really good as are the RBs. 1s on D were for the most part not that impressive to me, but as others have mentioned they were limited in what they were allowed to do. There's a huge drop of with the 2s. If AR gets hurt I'm going to get a lot of yardwork done on Saturdays, I'm afraid.

I really hope I'm wrong and will eat the crow feathers and all if it means we're not dropping games to UK and Missouri. It's not the end of the world if this season is really tough, as stench from Muschamp hasn't even cleared the building yet, let alone Dopey Dan. There have been some positive signs that Napier is working on a complete fumigation. I'm hopeful all the positive buzz in recruiting actually materializes into LOIs come early signing as I feel like we can't afford to finish second with a lot of these guys and be competitive in the next couple years.

I liked the tempo.

The penalties are an issue and that concerns me as it was something specifically mentioned before spring practices even started.

I'm glad Napier is killing the chain.

Go Gators!

You do realize this was just a scrimmage, right?

Hard to draw any conclusion from a controlled practice.....

My biggest takeaway was Napier standing right in the middle of the field all night. Uh, seriously? That might work at the G5 level, but it won’t work here. Not in the SEC.

Sorry; just saw this. We sat in the south end zone with some local friends so I stayed off the phone. Looked like a lot of recruits and their families a dozen or so rows on front of us. Saw several of the new staffers hanging out with them. Katie Turner in particular seemed to know everyone and likes to give hugs.

We were probably right around you. Saw the same thing.

I came away very impressed with young bucks like Jeremy Young and Pouncey. The latter made a real nice tackle on Johnson in the open field . You could tell it irked Montrell He got up shaking his head frustrated . Even still I liked him best of what we saw from the backs . Bowman has a role with his vision and wheels . Just wish he was about fifteen pounds heavier .

A lot to like from AR and the D in general. Sapp and Boone can help us for sure . I thought 7 looked like a freshmen that could help us in year one at DT . Definitely a good looking DL when you factor in the ends . The two issues most pressing to me is a below average group of receivers and the backups on the OL look dreadful . Henderson is somewhat of a disappointment at this point . Hopefully Burke emerges because we are going to need him .

With you on this, Pouncey in particular made a couple of nice open field plays. He looks a little light but very game.

Burke to me also seems to look disengaged. I feel like he’s almost always just standing along the sidelines, often by himself. Very strange, he and XH.

What was your take on the cornerbacks? A podcast I listen too was not pleased with the play of Jalen Kimber. He said he was getting abused by Fraziers. The podcast host is a former DB and says that Kimber has good speed and hips and suffocates receivers but he doesn’t turn his head and this allows receivers to get above him for catches. He also said that turning your head is easier said than done but it’s not something that you can just pick up all of a sudden.

@ltraz since I know you loved CRob (just kidding) here are some damning comments made by Wingo regarding how they’re doing things different at spring practice:

Wingo, heading into his third season, is finally starting to get more comfortable after playing mostly as a rush end in his senior year of high school.

"I feel like I have a purpose. I feel like I’m being developed," Wingo said.

"Taking angles to the ball, being able to take a correct angle to the ball. Not giving away the cutback. Being able to know how to use your arms and I would say also just being able to get off the blocks," Wingo said. "That’s a huge thing we were practicing."

Derek Wingo worked his way into the mix at linebacker in spring
