Final meet of the season. Down to Florida, Oklahoma, Utah and Auburn. Although this is really a two-horse race between Oklahoma and Florida. Only if both of those two have to count a fall or perform sub-par will Utah or Auburn have a shot. Florida starts on vault and Oklahoma starts on floor, which is made for TV since Oklahoma will finish on balance beam and Florida on floor, the last two events that finish the rotation. It may come down to the final two athletes to go, It will be interesting if Rowland changes her order on floor which has had Blakely in the anchor instead of Trinity. Either way UF will need to start with a much better vault rotation than the semifinals. They need to be 49.3+ preferably closer to 49.5. If they do that, they are well on their way. Should be a good tight meet, even Utah and Auburn should be right in there, like I said, close enough that a poor rotation or fall will spell doom. Go Gators! Bring it home!!!

The Gators could just not stick landings today. If they had stuck 3 more landings, they win the meet. No stuck landings on beam, only 1 stuck landing on bars, and I think only one stuck landing on vault. Depending on severity, that’s half a tenth to a tenth per miss.

Aside from that, it was a gritty performance by the Gators, who had what it takes to win. Oklahoma was just a little bit better today, which has happened all too often on the past few years.

I’ll miss Megan and Alyssa, and am hoping Trinity decides to come back to win a championship. It’s a lot of work, so I can’t blame her if she doesn’t, but I don’t want to think today was the last time I’ll get to see her compete.

This spells doom for the upcoming football season.

On the contrary. The Gators won Gymnastics national championships in 2013,2014, and 2015. That was the last 2 years of the McElwain error and the first year of the Mullins error. In 2006 and 2008 the gymnastics team made it to the finals but fell short of winning the National Championship.

Not winning the gymnastics NC seems to bode well for the football team. Bring home the hardware, CBN!

‘13-‘14 were Chump’s last year’s and ‘15 was Mac’s first year.

Okie coming back from the abyss was wild no doubt. Its not that the Gators didn't have a good score. They did. Okie just has the judges eyes and reputation. Thats hard to beat.

Trinity was clearly the best gymnast on the floor. She was stellar. She could come back for 1 more year. That would be insane, but you never know.
