Point is, looks like they've at least started the climb, while we're still at the base.
They've "started the climb" getting brain-dead recruits that will almost certainly end up flipping after they realize how stupid they were for committing so early.

Elite kids don’t commit in April. They commit in the summer or later. Always been this way. And now adding in NIL makes it more if a dance. People forgot what it was like to recruit top kids.

BN isn’t focusing on top 250. He’s focusing on top 100. Bama only has one of the top 100 players committed. Does anybody really think that’s going to hold?

Yes and yes. Most top recruits don’t commit early and, when they do, they frequently flip by signing day. That being said, it is a little nerve wracking seeing all this 17 year old talent come to campus and leave all us idiots glued to their every tweet. And that’s going to go on until December!

Just watched his film. He is 6'2" according to 247, and 6'3" according to HUDL. Is a 4.5 guy according to HUDL. His HUDL reminded me a lot of Ardarius Stewart at Bama, and how they used him in the screen game.

I'm willing to bet Napier likes the speed/size combo of this guy.

Film looks like a 4.85 guy. At least his second clip is him blocking. He’s untangled nationally, this doesn’t fit the narrative of we are waiting because we are o my focused on top 100/250 guys. Hope it’s an outlier. We’ll know in 60-90 days.

Gators wide receivers coach Keary Colbert, Patterson's primary recruiter, has likened the prospect to a receiver Colbert coached at Southern California who is about to be selected in the first-to-second round of the 2022 NFL Draft, Drake London.

A great build at nearly 6'3", 180 pounds and consistent route-running to pair with a long stride, Patterson caught attention early on and only improved on the opinion thereafter. The build was reminiscent of a wing in basketball (yes, Patterson plays hoops for Eustis High) but the polish reflected a prospect who appears all in on one sport. Position coach and former NFL star Chris Chambers, like the SI staff, was surprised to learn Patterson had not breached the Power Five level on his scholarship offer list to date, especially after a 2021 season in which he averaged better than 20 yards per catch, broke the 1,000 yard barrier and scored 13 touchdowns in 10 games. Liberty, UMass and North Texas have offered while Florida State, Marshall and others have shown interest.

Wow. Now the unranked 3 star at 6’2” is nearly the same player as the potential first WR off the board, who is 6’5” and 210-220.

If he’s a Gator, I’ll cheer for him and hope he’s great. But this does not mesh with the volume of high 4-5 * WRs in this class who are supposedly leaning our way Bc of all the positive “things are so much better” quotes, unless they didn’t like what they saw from the offense Thursday.

Drake London was a low 4* coming out of high school. Almost a 3*. This IMO will end up being a take that flexes the power of UF's new off-field staff. This is what they are getting paid for. If all we do is take guys who are already high 4*/5* according to 247/Rivals/On3, then Billy should just go ahead and fire the whole scouting department. Or just let them play solitaire and Call of Duty all day and pick up their pay check because Billy can just use 247/Rivals/On3 to have perfect recruiting and scouting knowledge. If Napier's scouting department is worth their money then we should see a few guys every year who Napier's staff identifies first. Then 247/Rivals/On3 take a closer look, and agree those players are high 4*/5* kind of players. I think he'll climb the rankings once the recruiting services get a better look at him. The fact that he's unranked means they haven't even evaluated him yet.
